Slime-san is a sublime platformer that launched on the eShop last year, emulating the tough as nails style of Super Meat Boy while packing in a shocking amount of content. We absolutely loved the game at launch, but developer Fabraz hasn’t been willing to rest on its laurels. A brand new expansion called Blackbird’s Kraken has been in the works for a while, and it finally launched today.
The new update adds a whopping 50 levels to the game, along with tons of other new content and optimizations. Here’s what’s all being added:
NEW FEATURES:
– Leaderboards: Compete online for the best level & speedrun times!
– Button Mapping: Remap all of your controls to your liking!
– HUE Slider: Entirely change the color palette of the game!
– Reduce Eye Strain: An option in case the game was too harsh for you!
– Krazy Karting Minigame: Item based, karting madness for 2 players!
– Gloomy Minigame: A scary, intense FPS arena survival game!
– Easy Tutorial: Accessible at any time for a gameplay refresher!
NEW CONTENT – BLACKBIRD’S CONTENT CAMPAIGN:
– A totally independent campaign from Slime-san! Are you ready for an aquatic adventure?
– 25 normal and 25 NG+ levels within a giant kraken!
– A brand new boss fight, can you beat the Kraken?!
– 10 new target mode challenges that will test your skills!
– A customizable house that you can style and furnish to your heart’s content!
– 100 Bananas to collect and spend on furniture and house themes!
– Exciting new mechanics like the submarine mode, acid bubbles and suction cups!
– A independent speedrunning mode to compete with in leaderboards!
– An entire tropical Island you can explore and discover with tons of new characters!
– Loads of new cutscenes and story elements to experience and enjoy!
– New secret characters and set-pieces to discover across your journey!
– New music by Mischa Perella!
– More neat secrets!
ADJUSTMENTS:
– Loading Times: Have been shortened!
– Start-up Times: Have been shortened as well!
– Scrolling Level Performance: Has been significantly improved!
– Various minor bug fixes.
And for those of you that have been on the fence for a while, Slime-san is currently available for 30% off, so now is as good a time as any to jump in.

oh nice this is super tempting to get now.
This game has been what I've been playing while everyone else was talking about Celeste. The button mapping is awesome because I wasn’t a fan of how things are by default. Leader boards will also be cool. Buy this game if you love meat boy or Celeste
@damc34 sadly for me i am waiting till mynintendo update hits so i can buy it with coins. to bad that i doubt the sale will last till then.
That's quite a lot of new content. They could have easily asked a small payment for this.
@Late Quite possibly, which makes it all the nicer of the developer to not do that.
Hmm I may have to check this game out, I was interested in the game as it was originally but with all this extra content and the fact that it is on sale it seems like a really solid purchase.
That's it! Getting it for sure now. I liked the demo and loved the soundtrack. Also, I feel like it's an excellent pick up and play style game, even if it's just for a few minutes.
I didn't even know about this game, but after reading this article and the review, I have to buy it.
Giving all this new content for free, and on top of that reducing the price of the game, is Shovel Knight level. I salute this people!
Grabbed. Couldn't resist... 9/10, price reduction, new content added... it was too much
I thought the game was a steal at full price. There's more free content due in the summer as well.
After finishing Celeste, I wanna get back into this game. Worth it before the extra content, a must buy now!
I completed the main game in September, almost 100% with all apples and all time attacks but one (the last one...). This game is ridiculously good, I can't believe they are giving the DLC for free considering the game have a outrageous amount of content already. And for 8€ this is a steal. The soundtrack alone is worth the money, beautiful. I wish the devs all the better, Fabraz you are the n. 1
@edgedino IIRC the sale should last until the 8th! 😄
I’m super tempted to DL it too!
Bigger, better, faster and cheaper!
Hmmmm... I didn't love the demo, but this is still tempting. I appreciate the devs providing a generous demo and free DLC.
Definitely buying this now. It's been on my list for a while but now it seems too good to be true.
@TNLGUY I haven't heard about that. What content are you talking about?
@kevin74 Sheeple's Sequel just hit Steam. Fabraz talks about it on their Twitter a bunch, and they mentioned it should be out for the Switch this summer.
I've had my eye on this since it launched, and now extra content, improvements and under £7? Sold.
the best value game on switch hands down, a great challenge too. needs more love IMO, utterly charming.
I honestly was not sure about this game....I decided to download the demo and I was like...this is actually pretty fun! It was 33% off therefore I went ahead and bought it! Thanks to the demo option. I just learn about this new content for free! Sold (X2)
