While it seemed likely that indie sports sim Disc Jam would eventually make its way onto Nintendo Switch, we've long been waiting on confirmation of a firm date. Well, thanks to an eShop listing we now know its due to hit North American Switches on 8th February 2018.
If you're not familiar with the game (it's been out on PS4 and PC since March last year), it's a spiritual successor to Windjammers and combines the 1v1/2v2 setup of a tennis match and adds in the wall-bouncing of air hockey. It received a mixed response from critics, but we think it's got great potential to follow in Rocket League's footsteps on Switch.
No word on a European release date just yet, but we imagine it will clock in or just after the North American release. We'll keep you updated once we know more. So will you be throwing discs like a Tron-like gladiator when Disc Jam hits next month? Comment like a pro below...

That game looks interesting, haha. I'll keep my eye out on it.
Great now give us windjammers as well!
@Lord windjammers would be awesome!
Nice, and another cry for Windjammers as well.
Windjammers will come to switch, all the other Neo Geo stuff has. It made it to vita not long ago, can't see why not for switch
This game looks interesting though
This game is nothing special. I got it free on the PS4 with our Sony Plus last year when it came out. I played it for about an hour and got bored.
A relatively simple but fun game that can get hectic enough, especially in double matches. Been a while since I last dedicated time and mobile traffic to it on PS4, but I'll sure keep an eye out for it on Switch.
Give us the damn original! We have enough KoFs!!
@Axlroselm @WhistleFish Those Neo Geo releases are done by Hamster who have obviously acquired a license to port them. Windjammers however is a little complicated so Hamster won't be able to port that. It was developed by Data East and published by SNK but when DE went bankrupt the rights to their games were scattered among other companies and SNK no longer have the license for Windjammers, it now belongs to a Japanese company called Paon DP. There was an updated version of Windjammers with online play brought to PS4 and Vita last year, developed by a French company called Dot Emu who went to Japan to arrange a deal with Paon DP. The good news is, Dot Emu is the developer behind the Wonderboy IV remake, a title that had stronger sales on Switch than any other platform so there is hope. Even if they did want to bring it to Switch though,it all comes down to whether that Japanese company will give them permission to release it on a Nintendo device.
