Headup Games has revealed that it is bringing ClockStone's Bridge Constructor Portal to the Nintendo Switch next year.
An update of the smartphone title Bridge Constructor created in conjunction with Portal studio Valve, Bridge Constructor Portal features the "vehicle-based test chambers" of Aperture Laboratories. The game "blend the laws of structural engineering and technology straight from Aperture Laboratories" and even features the iconic AI, GLaDOS.
Here's some PR:
We welcome all lucky applicants to Bridge Constructor Portal with our new vehicle-based test chambers, Quantum Tunnels and patented Aperture technology!
For the last year we've been secretly working in our underground labs on the next iteration of the million-selling Bridge Constructor series. This new stand-alone title will release on PC, MacOS, Linux, mobile devices, and console, and fully embraces the Portal license, one of the most beloved video game franchises of the last decade.
Bridge Constructor Portal will blend the laws of structural engineering and technology straight from Aperture Laboratories into an exciting new game experience, all under the demanding gaze of GLaDOS.
The Windows, MacOS, Linux and smartphone versions all launch on December 20th, with the console versions (including Switch of course) coming in early 2018.

Portal 1 and 2 would be nice to have on the Switch.
Dissapointed about this spin off. Portal 2 on the Switch would be a killer.
Please just bring the Halflife collection and Portal to Switch already
Orange Box while you are at it too please!
I love the lore of Portal so much that'll I'll pick it up regardless of the platform really.
I'm not even mad at Valve, just disappointed
While I’d love the real Portal on Switch, this at least seems interesting.
Forgot to mention that Valve is NOT developing the title. They just agreed to the developer behind Bridge Constructor to make a game around the license, similar to Pinball FX2 and Lego Dimensions
Half Life 3 confirmed!
Portal 2 is my favorite game of all time. I didn't even know this was out already, but I will definitely buy it. I'm always eager to get my hands on any Portal content whatsoever.
Also, seeing as Valve is willing to port they're content onto consoles, perhaps we could get a Portal 1 & 2 double pack. If I could play Portal on the go, that would be a dream come true, especially with the level editor in Portal 2.
Sorry for triple-post, but apparently it isn't out yet, so I will be able to wait until it comes out for console.
How to give players a huge middle finger releasing a new portal game. It seems nice anyway (the game, not the... you know)
I saw the Portal logo, and "coming to switch". My brain refused to acknowledge anything else until the video started. So disappointing. But I'll probably buy it in the hope that Valve see how popular it is and decide to put Portal 1 + 2 on Switch.
Add me to the list of people who are now wishing Portal 1&2 were coming to Switch...
To be fair, I will buy any type of videogame as long as it includes voice-overs from GlaDOS or Cave Johnson included within.
That being said, I'd rather just play Portal again.
Gief Orange Box Mr Valve sir.
This kind of physics-based gameplay is PERFECT for a Portal spinoff. I'm not sure why people are so mad about it. It's not replacing any potential Portal 3 (it's not even developed by the same people), and Portal isn't in desperate need of a third game yet like Half Life was. It's like if people back in the the 90s got all angry about Mario Party and started saying "Way to give a middle finger to people who wanted Super Mario 64 2!"
@Saego agree. Lazy to port a smartphone game. Switch is a full console! Give us full games!
@Malcrash really? Disappointed and Valve in the same sentence? Disappointed was 5 years ago, when they stopped making games...
@okeribok The Dota card game exists, so even then, still disappointed at them.
Everything you got Valve!!!!! Left4Dead, Team Fortress, Portal, Half Life....bring them all! Call it Red Box!
...but when it comes to bridge building, the game that got announced yesterday looks more promising to me.
This an the Portal pinball table are welcome, but a bundle of Portal 1 and 2 would be awesome.
So on the Switch this is Portal-ble?
Ba-dum-cha.
Another Port
al
Looks fun enough and right in there with the other console releases.
True Portal would be better, yes, but no reason to complain, here.
So this combines a mobile game and Portal, did I get that right?
Either way, hopefully we also see Portal 1 and 2.
They said I should've waited for the Switch release... I love the Switch... but I was impatient... I bought the game when it was first released on Steam... Oh well, at least the original Bridge Constructor was included for free
