Nightdive Studios is currently hard at work rebooting the classic 1994 FPS adventure System Shock, and has released a Kickstarter update showing where the title currently stands.
If you've already backed the game then the footage will naturally be of interest - it's shaping up nicely, if a little slowly - but the biggest news for Nintendo fans is that the game could be coming to Switch.
Nightdive have stated that a Switch port is "not off the table". The game is currently confirmed for PS4, PC, Mac, Linux and Xbox One. A version which takes advantage of the recently-released Xbox One X could also happen.

It looks interesting though it has a long way to go.
Forgot about this game, but thinking about it i know where the install disc is for the original.
I hope they do bring it to switch and are not just doing this to get more advertising
I would love to see this on the Switch, however it will depend on how much of a downgrade it will take to get the game ported.
Switch does need first person shooters even with Doom only 2 days away!
System Shock 1 and 2 are one of my all time favourite games. Since the remake is looking pretty good so far, having SHODAN mock you whenever you go would surely be amazing.

Add it as a stretch goal so it doesn't come out well after the others and bomb over it if you're going to do it. If the desire is there the Nintendo fans who trust kickstarter funding (I never pay into them to be honest) will push it to that limit to make a point to have it done.
I don't know anything about this game - but more potentially quality titles can't hurt.
The art direction differs a lot from the original, which always has me questioning what else the studio might be changing without telling or even being aware themselves.
That said, this is definitely a genre that isn't yet covered in full on Switch, so a warm welcome is still in order, should it happen.
one of the all time greats. up there with thief and deus ex. would buy for sure.
That's one huge PC classic.
Probably one of the best first person / action adventure / RPG games that was ever made.
And the spiritual prequel to Bioshock.
This inspired Halflife, Deus Ex, Metroid Prime, Fallout and many other games.
Even hearing, that this is possible, makes me happy!

@MegaTen It was moved to Unreal Engine 4 to make it easier to port to consoles.
So, it's more a remake, than a total reimagining? If so I won't have to play the original.
