Indie game publisher Wired Productions has announced that Tiny Troopers Joint Ops XL is heading to the Switch eShop in time for the Holiday season.
The game is a twin-stick shooter which sees the player control 'tiny troopers' battling evil adversaries from around the world, with a collection of weapons at your disposal. It was originally released back in 2014 on other consoles but this fancy, jazzed-up 'XL' version will be exclusive to the Switch. You can check out a trailer for this new edition of the game, as well as some extra juicy details, below.
• Relive the original campaigns from Tiny Troopers & Tiny Troopers 2: Spec Ops with over 60 action-packed missions
• Brainsssssss! Fight for your life through 8 Zombie Campaign missions, 4 fast paced undead wave maps & zombie survival mode
• Push your miniature militia to the edge with Ultra-Hardcore difficulty
This new, updated version promises to be "bigger than ever" and could be a perfect match for the Switch; the portability of the console matches the scale of the game's maps (and miniature characters) very nicely indeed. The game is said to make use of the Switch's touchscreen, too, which could make the Handheld play-style option even more appealing.

might be fun but i might need to see more gameplay.
I'm always somewhat curious about it when i see it on PSN. Maybe i'll give it a chance on the Switch eShop.
It doesn't look as good as Cannon Fodder. I wish someone would remake Cannon Fodder 😩
Aww, they look so small and cute. Can I keep em?
Completed it all on Vita, but I'll wait and see what the exclusivity's about. Pretty fun stuff, reminiscent of Cannon Fodder.
This looks like a must play for me!
For some odd reason this make me want cannon fodder ported to switch.
Had this on the PS4 along with the dlc..fantastic little game and worthy of another purchase.
Great stuff, just my kind of game.
What the heck is going on in the indie scene? Apparently, the new focus seems to be on creating games with minuscule protagonists: Tiny Barbarian, Tiny Troopers...
@ThanosReXXX Don't they realize the player is tiny already in tabletop mode?? XD
@Gerald That has already been done. Don't know if you already knew about Cannon Fodder 3, but in case you didn't, here it is.
And here's a video:
It never got any great review scores, but I actually found it quite entertaining nonetheless.
@ThanosReXXX
I didn't know about that, thanks for the info. It does look different somewhat, actually closer to this game being previewed.
It doesn't look as good as the original Cannon Fodder though. I bet the original music would also be too un pc for today
Looks like my kind of game tbh. Another on the list for when I pick up a switch 😁
@Gerald Well, I'm definitely no graphics over gameplay guy, but even I think it is safe to say that this third game does indeed look much better than the original 2 games. It's in HD and much more detailed, so how can it not look better?
Unless of course you prefer 2D art over this kind of aesthetic, but I think that they kept it close enough to the original concept for it not to feel like a completely different game and a worthy third part in the series.
I'd say follow that link, give it a go and find out for yourself.
@ThanosReXXX
you are right that I meant the 2D asthetics. I just prefer the look of the originals to this. Having my A500 (with annoying modulator) set up is just awkward due to the amount of room it takes up. Would love an Amiga VC
Always down for a twin stick shooter!! 😃👍
@Gerald Like to relive those Amiga days, huh? I can relate to that: I still have an A500, an A1200 and a CD32. All three with hard drives as well.
Do you have a modded Wii or Wii U? If so, then UAE for Wii will do that trick for you. I have it installed on my Wii, combined with hundreds of Amiga classics, and they all work like a charm, safe for a small handful of games that aren't compatible, but Cannon Fodder works perfectly fine.
And if your Wii/Wii U isn't modded, then even the Amiga alone is more than enough reason to give it a go...
@Gerald P.S. what's so annoying about the modulator?
@ThanosReXXX Don't forget Tiny Metal as well
@ThanosReXXX the modulator annoyed me because of far it stuck out at the back, I just think in could have been built in like the A600
@H_Hunter Ah yes, another one to add to the list. No coincidence anymore now...
@Gerald Aha. One of these gizmos, right?
There are other solutions, though.
For example, look here:

And you can always send them an email first, to verify which cable to choose for your setup.
And if you're tech savvy enough, you can always make one yourself:

From the home page, go to the Amiga button on the left to find even more Amiga hacks, tips and tricks.

And as mentioned before, you can always soft mod your Wii/Wii U if tinkering with the real Amiga is not really your thing. I've done that so many times now, you can always ask me about that and I'll help you out with tips or how to's whenever I can.
@ThanosReXXX yeah, that's it. Thanks for the links, will take a look
