Pokémon GO's upcoming Equinox event will introduce a new item to the game.
From Friday 22nd September until Monday 2nd October, players have the chance of grabbing a 2km egg with rare Pokémon such as Chansey, Mareep and Larvitar inside. Double Stardust will also be awarded for catching 'mon and hatching eggs, and any new Pokémon registered to the Pokédex during the event will earn triple the usual XP.
However, perhaps the biggest news about the Equinox event is the introduction of Super Incubators, which will hatch eggs one-and-a-half times faster than usual. From the sound of things, these will need to be purchased using coins from the game's shop.

First comment!!! YAY!!! I need those Super Incubators. Plus, can't wait to earn all that stardust from hatching my nine 10km eggs I have currently on the go!
I always said they need better incubators. I want to see them offer permanent incubators too.
Im ready to go for a walk! Man I love Pokemon GO
This almost makes me want to go back to Pokémon Go. ...almost.
So happy I stopped playing this. Completely draining my phone all the time within an hour, maybe a little over, and constantly having to look for (dodgy) WiFi hotspots since I refuse to get a data plan just for this stupid game. I hate how you HAVE to be connected to the internet for this.
Oh well. Have fun, Go fans.~
@Aerona
This. Just this.
Super Incubators being sold (of course) are the textbook example of the saying "too little, too late". I'm ever so glad to have gotten in the game this summer instead of last year.
This is a good event, people need a lot more stardust and this is how you boost a much needed commodity.
I'm gonna have to imagine though that super incubators are a rip-off that costs more and are for the impatient.
I may actually be more active again with it over this. I've got 3 lucky eggs I've not bothered with that could bump an xp gain up to 5x.
@tanookisuit Does it just add up?
Would be better if it multiplied.
@Yosher I mean... how else would an AR-based game like this work?
@Yosher A constant connection is obviously required to play the game, I wouldn't even consider playing it solely on WiFi hotspots. while your usual GPS navigation app does work offline as long as the static map & route data is up to date enough, the data for Pokémon GO spawns, stops, and gyms is always updating on the fly and can't be done by GPS alone.
You could, however, walk together with that one friend who has an unlimited (or otherwise very big) data subscription. My monthly mobile data limit is 1GB and I have helped some people get into raids to have a chance at legendaries. The game uses a surprisingly low amount of data.
Back when PoGo released I had a 300MB limit and even then PoGo didn't go over 200MB a month with daily walks and play.
@Slaz @mainstream05 I just don't see why they can't just allow you to download Pokémon/map data for an hour or two in advance. Obviously this wouldn't work with things like Gyms but for those who only care about collecting the Pokémon that wouldn't matter.
I've already stopped playing though, and with the abundance of great games coming out in the coming months, I doubt I'll really want to head back into Pokémon Go anyway, so it's all good. I've already accepted the fact that I won't be able to play this game properly, since I refuse to pay for this game (and getting a data plan just for this game would essentially be paying for this game) and my wish for allowing offline catching in any way, shape or form won't be implemented anytime soon either.
It's all good though. I'm glad the game's still supported for fans of the game.~
It amazes me that people are so hooked on a mediocre cell phone games. Investors love "mobile games" but I think they are one of the worst changes we've had to gaming. Can't stand that "free to play" model.
This game is ok. You get out, meet a lot of ppl, get some movement and fresh air.
