Exciting I guess. I have more playing than watching.
Hoping my friend wins TCG Championship.
I want to watch them all, TCG, VG and Pokkén!
Not going to bother. I'm not a Verlisify fan at all, but after he and others showed the amount of blatant cheating and poor sportsmanship that was allowed in the past, I have no interest in watching. Anything actually good during the event can be found on Youtube later anyways.
@greengecko007 Cheating?
@Kalmaro Participants in the TCG tournament were recorded fake shuffling their decks. They stacked the cards and then just grabbed some off the top and repeatedly slapped them together, not changing the order.
In the 3DS games, it is widely known that many people use tools to generate perfect Pokemon to make their teams. I myself have done this a lot for in game use, but I have never entered an official tournament with my illegitimately created Pokemon. There was also bad sportsmanship in the form of timer stalling, where players in bad situations or matchups literally just stopped playing the game to let the clock run down so that they'd win (or have a chance of winning) in the event that their team had a higher HP percentage. This could also be considered cheating, because the rules themselves state that bad sportsmanship and playing the clock should be avoided whenever possible and participants that abuse this can be disqualified (not that they were).
@greengecko007 Pokémon generating I'm not as bothered by, provided they are legitimate.
The card shuffling stuff and time clock wasting, that's just absurd. I'd be ticked off by that as well.
Yeah, the time problem was fixed in sun & moon.
There should still be a video from last year's worlds VGC stream.
More or less the guy could not beat her team, so he just let the clock run down on his last 2 pokemon and since they had higher HP he won the set.
But really, the current VGC format is a bit stale...with no move tutors, you just make a team of tapu's, ultra beasts, and one pokemon with a Z-move.
Also, you have to be very careless to get caught with a "hacked" pokemon at the world level.
