Telltale Games' Minecraft: Story Mode - The Complete Adventure was released on Switch recently, and it seems it is just the beginning of Telltale's plans for Nintendo's portable powerhouse.
In a recent video interview with Rocket Beans TV, Telltale's Head of Creative Communications Job Stauffer teased the following:
I think you know as a studio that prides itself in having our games, the same games, that you play on a big PlayStation console, is the same thing you will play on a telephone. The Switch is that happy medium of the two. It's part console and it's part mobile. So it just feels natural on the Switch and we love it.
Minecraft, the first game, came out today. I think you can expect to see other titles like Batman, Guardians of the Galaxy, maybe Minecraft Season 2 in the future.
We don't have dates yet but we're big fans of the platform. More Telltale titles are coming to the Switch, stay tuned.
Of course we've seen various online retailers already listing Guardians of the Galaxy on Switch along with Batman: A Telltale Game Series, but it's always nice to hear it from the horse's mouth.
Let us know if you are excited by the prospect of playing more games from Telltale on your Switch at some point in the not-too-distant future.

The Walking Dead?
Hopefully they're good. More interested in Batman really.
Crossing my fingers for the walking dead!
Unsurprising; they're engine hasn't changed much since the Walking Dead.
Support is always appreciated, but Telltale have really fallen out of favour with me honestly. They don't interest me anymore.
What you said in the article subtitle was totally uncalled for! Why does NL allow its writers to get away with such foul language?
The walking dead would be epic.
Too much 3rd party support at the minute it's ridiculous
Oh hell yeah! I will even buy and play through Minecraft again too if we know season 2 will happen as well! I want to play everything on my Switch! I love this! Keep it coming!
Telltale I will double dip for the following:
Your Sam and Max Series
Fables: The Wolf Among Us
Strong Bad's totally cool game for awesome people
That's super-cool and all (no, it really is) but what I really want is Tales from the Borderlands!
[EDIT]: And The Walking Dead. Aaaaand The Wolf Among Us.
all three seasons of walking dead physical please
I wish more companies were direct about this. Now I know to wait. I don' t mind waiting.
It is funny that they mention running the same game on a console and a phone, because Batman runs on neither. It is unforgivably bad. Textures missing, framerate drops, sound going out of sync. It is even worse than the vita ports of walking dead. It is a shamebacause when they get it right, like wolf among us and borderlands they are a lot of fun. My advice, wait for reviews before buying anything from these clowns.
Wolf Among Us season 2 please! And even port season 1 to get Switch owners ready, because why not. Awesome game
I'll think about getting them as long as they release physical copies. I'm not much into digital releases. I've passed Sonic Mania (for now) because it's downloadable only, image those games. So, it's really up to you, TellTale.
I'd be game for some of their earlier titles. All the new stuff has been cat pee.
@Ichiban Great comic, great character, great game.
Good. The more quality games we get the less likely I'll be downloading 8 & 16 bit games off the eshop. Pretty soon it'll be only games pushing the Switch forward, not back.
@Bruh I was thinking the same thing. I would love to have Walking Dead on Switch. Cheers!
@XenoShaun LOL!!!
No interest in minecraft at all but I would pick both of these up.
Do they pride themselves in having buggy versions that crash for everybody on mobile phones? Well, that's why I haven't played those versions. But otherqise they are phenomenal games that I can't wait to play on Switch!
That's good news for Switch only owners or people that like to double dip on the same games, but as for me I done own the First Batman Telltale series on Xbox One and will be skipping it. As for Guardians of The Galaxy no really interested in it but if they would bring over The Wolf Among Us and The Walking Dead Series I would pickup both of them for the Switch.
Definitely getting both. I just hope they bring the first Batman season too.
Nice to finally get confirmation for Batman after tons of retailer leaks.
I only ask if these have physical editions, include ALL episodes on the actual cart! Don't just include episode 1 and a download code for the other episodes, that kind of defeats the point in having a physical version.
"The Switch is that happy medium of the two. It's part console and it's part mobile."
This is one of the many reasons why I was always against a hybrid device and it will one day be the Switch's doom. Developers are partly or fully viewing it as a mobile phone/tablet (because that's what it technically is). Which leads to many ports of mobilr games and generally low quality titles, as we've already seen (like, 85% of the eshop games).
I'm calling it now: the Switch might become more commercially successful than the Wii U, but its games will have a lower quality on average.
I grew up with King's Quest so I hope they bring that one to the switch too.
Cool, always nice to see more quality support.
@shani
The Switch's eShop will have crappy content because it is a modernized and successful platform that will attract developers of various sizes and skill levels, not because it is a portable/home console hybrid.
How many terrible mobile games have currently been ported to the Switch that haven't been ported to other dedicated gaming platforms (PS4/XBO/PC/3DS/Vita)?
@westman98 Actually, I think what you mentioned is at least partly true because of it being a hybrid (or more precisely, because many don't perceive it as a hybrid but simply as another mobile device).
I think the Switch would attract less small developers with low skill levels if it wasn't perceived as a mobile platform. Because as we all know, mobile platforms like smartphones and tablets are full of those unambitious, low-level skilled developers.
But of course you're also right, the modernized platform and the Switch's success make it easier/more attractive for that kind of developers.
Walking Dead or nothing, actually maybe game of thrones
Friggin epic! Love story based games, especially since I have just recently been getting into the Minecraft world for the first time!
Already bought Batman and Guardians on PS4 though... Why is is so late?
Nice! I'd consider picking up Guardians.
Another small step forward for Switch 3rd party support and I agree these Telltale titles are a natural on the Switch. Hopefully they consider the walking dead, wolf and back to the future also! Dare I even add Jurassic Park from the PS3/360 days?!?
@titotito3399 King's Quest is not a Telltale game. Would love to have on the Switch as well, though!
