Descenders is shaping up very nicely indeed, and publisher No More Robots has revealed to us that the response from Switch owners has been overwhelming - so much so that developer RageSquid is ramping up its efforts on Nintendo's system.
No More Robots founder Mike Rose told us:
Nintendo has been super supportive to us from the moment we brought Descenders to them, and the guys at RageSquid received dev kits incredibly quickly - we're talking within the space of a week of us requesting them.
Meanwhile the response from Switch fans has just been overwhelming, and every time we mention to someone that we're building the game for Switch, their eyes just light up. A large portion of the over 1 million views we've had on the game across all the various versions of the trailer came from people searching for Switch games, so we can definitely see there's a fever for more Switch games out there!
So the plan is to make sure the Switch version of the game is as great as possible, and the RageSquid team has a dedicated guy making sure that is the case. We'll start posting videos of the game running on Switch soon, so the community can following along with the development.
Are you looking forward to playing this unique racing title on Switch? Let us know with a comment.

With a name like Ragesquid they're already off to a good start with Splatoon fans.
As for the game, if it's as good as it looks like it could be, I'll play the heck out of it.
That title!
No more robots? Finally, bring the jobs home!
This is a pretty cool statement and bolds well for the future. I'm one of those fans he mentions btw. I just visit reddit, then come here, then go to NinEverything, then twitter. Normal routine for Switch news.
After that, when I see a new game announce for Switch; I click the video and left a comment on Youtube stating that I'll be buying on Switch. And I do btw, is not an empty promise. But I only comment that for games I'll buy. For the ones that I'll never buy I just comment something like thanks for supporting the Switch. I think this involve developers with us the Switch community and let them know that we do want games and we will support developers that put effort in the console.
It looks great
Ooookay....
Mountain bike ?
Hmm...
I can do it also from LEGO CITY Undercover with Mountain Bike + All Nitro Red Brick.
Damn, that video is FAST. I was getting F-Zero flashbacks a few times there!
This game looks like it'll be a lot of fun to crash/die in.
Looks fun to me.
Expected a predictable/tired biking game. Did not expect a ludicrously awesome-looking downhill racer with procedurally generated courses.
Hoo lordy this is one to get excited for.
Being a massive fan of the extreme sports genre, and the lack of games in the genre as of late, I'm definitely looking forward to this one.
As someone who's first love is mountain biking... I can say that I look forward to trying this game out. My only disappointed is that in the posted video, the animation of the models look very stiff and unnatural. For example, when throwing whips, its all initiated with a slight lean into the jump before take off, followed by the rotation of hips and shoulders. Same with the 360, where the head always leads by looking over the shoulder, whereas in the video, the bike just pops up and spins, which looks awkward AF.
I'm just another one interested in the Switch version. Looks like a good ride I wanna take on!
The first person view gave me flashbacks to my mountain biking days. Looks great!
Looks fun!
I'm reading the headline puzzled, trying to figure out why they're declaring no more robots, only to read its the name of the publisher, lol
Edit: As for the game, it looks fun. Hope its development pans out and it plays well. Looks pretty good
Physical release or just eshop?
It looks like a more insane Excite Truck, but on a bike.
Colour me interested.
This looks great.
Biking of the wild
Anything that barely resembles the excitement and velocity of Excite Trucks/Bots or FZero is a must buy for me.
Color me surprised. I'll be waiting for this on Switch.
I agree animation looks a bit stiff but I'll be al over this come release.
gimme gimme
Looks cool. The summer version of Steep. Wonder which comes out first...
I had no idea this existed, but now I'm looking forward to it.
Not my cup of tea. But if people like it, that's good waiting patiently until Don't Starve arrives on Switch. Could be, any minute now.
This game looks great!
@Dijita You nailed it. As a (former) mtn biker and animator, this kind of stuff drives me nuts. Skilled animators research or act out the needed actions and then they know how the body reacts. Sadly, I see so much sub-par animation like this that it's distracting and I can't enjoy the game/video/movie. The funniest thing though... when I take the time to prep for my animations by researching, they actually take less time to complete so that can't be the excuse... Oh well.
Summer Steep. I'm fine with that.
Another very promising game.
Really great news, I need this game to be great on Switch since it is the only prospect of filling the action/extreme sports void. And it certainly has a striking, original style that appears to mimic the actual intensity of zipping down a mountain.
Hope Descenders comes through as I could easily see it making a significant impact in the Switch market. Besides, I need it.
Haven't played a biking game since Courier Crisis on PSone (Which was awesome at the time). Will be purchasing this for sure.
Oh my, procedural generated free downhill biking? Day One!
Not really my type of game but I admit, it looks fun and I'd actually consider giving it a whirl.
@mandlecreed
I was getting an Excite Truck vibe, too. Will keep an eye on this.
Honestly, I just wish the video on the eShop was of the Switch version because having just bought it .... it’s definitely definitely not. Shame we cannot request refunds
