Japanese publication Famitsu will be holding its own Nintendo Switch video report after Nintendo's full reveal tomorrow, it has been revealed.
The broadcast - which will be around an hour long - will air on the NicoNico channel around 9 to 10PM Japanese time. This will be a few hours before the Nintendo Treehouse video event begins.
As for what the broadcast will contain, it's likely to be analysis of Nintendo's reveal but could potentially feature exclusive footage, given Famitsu's standing in the Japanese games media.
Will you be tuning in, or will you be taking a much-deserved rest after watching the Nintendo presentation?

Of course I do.
I will watching Switch presentation tomorrow at 11 am on my time.
Please, Nintendo. Do your best !
Can I watch the niconico channel live anywhere online?
Gosh tommrow morning can't get here soon enough
Yeah i want to know too, where we can watch it
What time is the treehouse event in the U.K? Please anyone.
I know google is my friend but not when you are mobile (on a long train journey) and have a crappy 3G connection.
To live in Central Standard Time in the USA, so I can't WAIT for tonight!!
Maybe they'll just be reshowing the event and talking over it?
I had this horrible thought that as bad as the frame rate has been at times in the past for some canned Nintendo Directs, Nintendo is streaming this LIVE from Japan to the entire globe at once. If they stock their bandwidth like their NES Mini we could all be in for a long slide show of a night.
What do you think @damo you're a tech guy, Nintendo have this in the bag or reason to worry? I've never had much of a problem here in New York with a Sony show but I've never tried to watch 1 live from Japan, just the US ones. Should I check my astrological calendar for solar flare activity?
Tomorrow? Well its tonight at 11pm for me. 7:41 am as of right lol
@hieveryone same here counting down the time
@Anti-Matter It's 11am for me too here I'm Thailand. Perfect time.
It'll probably just be a review of the presentation. I predict a 8/7/10/9.
@Megas It is a presentation, the Treehouse is something extra later in the day.
@Hotfusion It's at 4am .. I actually woke up this morning thinking it was today
@rjejr can't tell you for Nintendo's own stream. But if you are watching it on YouTube, Google will be the ones worrying about how the content is distributed live globally, and they are the masters of it. Makes no difference that the source is Japan. As long as they have enough bandwidth to provide YouTube the video (they will), then all is fine.
@shinobi87
Thanks mate. I knew that the presentation was at 4am but I thought the tree house was a second event following the 4am presentation.
Thanks for clearing that up.
@MrPuzzlez me too!! 13 hours left!
@Hotfusion haha ok now I'm confused too Yeah the main presentation is at 4am , then if it's 9-10pm Japanese time that is 6/7am UK time
@Hotfusion the treehouse live is at 2:30pm GMT tomorrow.
For anyone who hasn't seen this, https://www.reddit.com/r/NintendoSwitch/comments/5mg38d/everything_you_need_to_know_about_the_switch/ is a good resource.
@Hotfusion
Add 10 hours 30 minutes from Switch presentation schedule. It will be 14.30 at UK.
@shinobi87 how are you working this out? The famitsu broadcast will be around 12pm-1pm GMT tomorrow.
Ahh...this is the glorious that is Nintendo Life...if I miss it, I can always catch it here!!!!
@thehappyjack Reread it all ( and applied the time difference the right direction this time ) The different amount of events/streams happening got me confused .... Look guys I just want my switch ...I WANT MY SWITCH
I'll read the summary on Nintendo Life. Listening to a languague I cannot understand while at work isn't really exciting.
@Anti-Matter @thehappyjack @shinobi87
Thank you all for that info. Really appreciate it. Many thanks.
@thehappyjack Thanks for the reassurance, I'm prone to worry about these sorts of things. Admittedly things are a lot better now than they were 5 or 10 years ago when live streaming was in it's infancy. I do hope people realize if the games look bad it's b/c 480p steady or 720p w/ hiccups doesn't usually do 1080p games justice. Always better to watch actual game footage in HD trailers later on.
@rjejr I actually have no idea which way it's going to go, all I know is that I'm really excited to see what they have to show and in principle the concept of Switch is really sound. I guess other factors such as third party support and what software will be available are still in the air right now. Should be fun.
So... there's the initial presentation in a bit less than 14 hours, the Famitsu a bit later, Treehouse later, and then two live streams of the Tokyo event where regular people get to play. We need a nice beeg chart for this one. I'm sure you are all in need of another story today, right, @Damo?
Edit: chopped out half the list originally.
We'll already have all the information we need on the games and hardware. What could they possibly hope to show us that won't be repeating what we already know?
@Damo Thanks damo. I'm predicting "memorable". It should be good though, they've only had about what, 3 years to prepare this presentation? If there are any technical difficulties they can't blame it on being a rush job. Things looked good w/ Fallon on the tonight show already.
@aaronsullivan I was just actually thinking how much can there actually be to watch? 5 ports of Wii U games we've already seen a ton of when they were on the Wii U, probably the same footage of Zelda we saw over and over and over again at E3, and a few new games. Not saying there wont be something to watch, but the hours and ours they have planned has to get repetitive at some point.
And I'm not a big fan of the Treehouse format anyway, I'd rather just see a 2:30 trailer. I'll watch tonight, then occassionally drop in tomorrow, depending on how many new games there are compared to ports. There will be ports, Splatoon, MK8, SSB if only so they can FINALLY release Cloud, Bayonetta and Corrin in amiibo form. I feel pretty good about seeing those amibo sometime this weekend. And more importantly a reason for Cloud to be in SSB, b/c there really wasn't one. Either FFVX or FFVII remake on Switch, 1 of those must be revealed this weekend as well. I'd watch a Treehouse of the FFVII remake.
@Damo Is is right to assume the event won't be streamed here? I vaguely remember Thomas saying that embedding NicoNico is about as pain-free as wrestling a bear-cactus, so I don't have high hopes.
Although that GameCenter CX SMM broadcast got through, which I thought was NicoNico, but might just have been YouTube after all.
@Maxz It's being streamed on Youtube, if we can't implement that........
@Nintendoforlife Sorry, "event" was a poor choice of words. I meant the Famitsu 'Report' that the article is referring to, rather than the official Switch event held by Nintendo (which I assume to be on multiple platforms including YouTube).
The article itself states:
"The broadcast - which will be around an hour long - will air on the NicoNico channel around 9 to 10PM Japanese time. This will be a few hours before the Nintendo Treehouse video event begins."
This only mentions NicoNico as the broadcasting platform, which makes me question the ease of streaming it via NintendoLife.
I'm assuming you meant 'The Official Nintendo Switch Event' in you're comment (which is definitely on YouTube), but if you've got a source saying that the Famitsu one will be on YouTube too then that's fantastic.
And if the 'NicoNico' channel is actually a YouTube channel rather than the NicoNico platform itself, then that's fantastic too.
Sorry to be in such a muddle.
EDIT: That final option seems unlikely. The only link given in the Reddit post is this link ( http://sp.live.nicovideo.jp/i18ngate/lv287489160 ) to NicoNico's own live streaming service, and the original post uses the wording "their NicoNico channel" - referring to Famitsu's own channel on NicoNico - rather than the NicoNico potentially having a channel on another video streaming site such as YouTube (which also seemed unlikely - given their position as competitors).
So it seems highly unlikely that the Famitsu stream will be on any platform other than NicoNico (and thus not YouTube), which brings us back to the original question for @Damo : How impractical/unlikely is it that the NicoNico stream will be live-blogged here in the manner on most Nintendo Directs (even the obscure Japanese ones)?
@Maxz Ahh ok yeah just a little misunderstanding. Now I am curious to find out the answer.
Seems like the Switch has the potential to be huge in Japan because of portable but powerful nature.
