Our friends over at Family Gamer TV will be hosting the UK's first family-focused gaming festival at this year's Kidtropolis, which takes place at ExCel London this October.
Kidtropolis is the UK's largest consumer event for kids and families. Family Gamer TV - a YouTube channel which gets 8 million views a month - will be on hand with the latest games, tech, apps and toys to life products. Given the channel's focus on Nintendo products, it's fair to say we can expect to see some 3DS and Wii U titles covered, as well as amiibo.
Here's what Family Gamer director and Nintendo Life contributor Andy Robertson had to say about the news:
Families have been crying out for a dedicated video game festival for years. Catering for both children and parents, this is a unique opportunity to engage this huge audience of gamers. The Family Gaming Festival at Kidtropolis will be breakthrough space for families to experience amazing games, get expert advice and discover how to get more from the games they play.
The event runs between 25th and 27th October. You can find out more about Kidtropolis here.

As this is some time after E3, yeah I totally see Nintendo having some kind of presence. The UK is somewhere they really need to get their foot firmly in the door. And if the NX comes out this year, that's totally perfect timing for them.
Nintendo really need to not just focus on England though. So many companies say they're going to host things in the UK and they completely ignore Scotland, Wales and Ireland. Nintendo should do something at this year's Glasgow Comic Con. There's always a massive community of Nintendo cosplayers there anyway.
It's a shame it's not a little closer but I guess it makes sense to host stuff like this in London, at least initially.
Hopefully it will be really popular and expand as I'd quite like to take my son, it's just a touch out of reach.
Either way, I like the concept, hope it goes well.
i honestly think that for gaming to grow, it needs to have more events like this worldwide. mobile tends to be the new home for accessible kid games. nintendo mans the gates alone for kid friendly dedicated gaming hardware.
I will definitely be taking the kids to this. They enjoyed the Nintendo booth at hyper Japan so this will be right up their street.
"Catering for"? Oh, those quirky Brits...
