The first person shooter genre is one that has occasionally come under fire for its occasionally derivative design. After all, you can only play so many militaristic "dudebro" shooters until they all just begin to blend together. Fortunately, there's been a stronger movement in the latest generation towards more innovation in this field, and it seems that a new title on the way to the North American eShop will be continuing that trend.
The game is called Lovely Planet, and it's a much cuter take on the first person shooter genre. The world looks almost like that of Playstation's Katamari Damacy, but it footage seems to indicate that it'll be a relatively challenging adventure. It lands on the North American eShop on 5th April, and we'll be sure to have a review out with our thoughts. Here's the release trailer from a previous version of the game:

Any multiplayer? This could be the halo-killer the Wii u needs
Very fun game! I own it on PC and would very much recommend this to anyone interested!
Having played the nindies demo I can confirm they were smoking some high quality stuff.
How Lovely 😅
by the title, i thought olney made a game.
It was very interesting in the earlier nindie promo. I enjoyed it. I'll probably get it.
Looks actually super fun, and I'm loving the music. I'll be sure to check this out if you guys give it a positive review.
I loved the nindies demo. I wants it!
Shoot sadface:
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAUUUUUUUUUGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH.
@ItalianBaptist Uhhh, no.
It's an indie game that released on PC a while back, and is single player only.
I didn't play it very long either so if there is anything besides just simple shooting, you got me there.
here's it's gog page:

I can't play a console FPS without getting sick, but hopefully it's good for those without those issues.
I really liked the demo from last year. Colourful, smooth and really made me smile for no apparent reason. I'm getting it for sure if the price isn't awful.
I loved this game on PC but I found the Wii U demo to be awful because of the clumsy and inaccurate dual analog control scheme. If they took the time to add support for superior control options like Wiimote + Nunchuk IR or Gamepad touchscreen or gyro aiming, then it might be worth checking out. Otherwise, get it on PC and play it with a mouse and keyboard. You will never beat any of the game's later levels using a dual analog control scheme.
The preview version had only analogstick controls. If it now has pointer controls ala Metroid Prime Trilogy or GamePad motion ala Splatoon I take another look. If not, then certainly miss, especially since 9.99€ is a bit too much for such a basic game. I mean, we got MPT for 9,99€ at launch. Even colorful WiiWare shooter Water Warfare had 4 player online matches and 2p local matches and is just 8,00€.
Played the demo. Worst game i've played in many many years. Basic & boring. Don't waste your money..
I ran out of gaming funds this week, and i spent my last remaining money to my name on this game. i dont get paid til the end of May. but its okay because lovely planet will keep my distracted from my starvation
I do like the art style
