The upcoming platform game,Yoshi’s Woolly World, set for release in early 2015, has recently been rated by the Australian Classification Board, confirming the previously scheduled launch period is still on target.
The Wii U title was rated on 16th February, with information of “very mild violence” in reference to online interactivity.
Yoshi’s Woolly World is the first game in the Yoshi series to appear on a Nintendo home console since the 1997 Nintendo 64 title, Yoshi’s Story. The latest entry in the series follows in the footsteps of developer Good-Feel’s 2010 Wii title, Kirby’s Epic Yarn, and is set to include woollen transformations for Yoshi, with amiibo compatibility also on the cards.
Are you excited about the release of Yoshi’s Woolly World on the Wii U? Let us know!

Game of the year. At least until the new Zelda arrives...
Yes! I smell a Direct this week or the next!
AWESOME! I am glad this isn't delayed in Europe like Kirby has been as out of the two, this one I am actually interested in getting.
I'm excited for anything by Good-Feel.
Having not played a Yoshi game since SMW2 or Kirby's Epic Yarn, I'll very likely be getting it.
Yoshi's Island is my favourite platformers of all time. I haven't been this excited for a Yoshi game since the origanal!
I hope its coming soon. The game line up for the first half is a nice selection of Bugger and All
Rated in Australia? Maybe this is a sign that we'll get the PAL version before the NTSC version.
It might be like how PAL regions have been stiffed over Kirby and the Rainbow Curse...we'll get Yoshi's Wooly World early and the US has to wait until 'Q4 2015'
Really looking forward to this. I love Yoshi and Kirby's Epic Yarn was lovely.
I definitely am excited to play this game! It looks so cool. I just hope it has a good amount of challenge and collectibles. That's all I want. Anything else is just gravy.
@ToxieDogg That would be a nice exchange. It's really odd that we in the EU are not getting Kirby and the Rainbow Curse when everyone else is, it's not like we're getting any other game instead of it. Well, that is if Yoshi's Wooly World doesn't turn out to be an early EU release, which would be great.
Anyway, I'd be quite glad if Yoshi's Wooly World does come out within the first half of the year. It's one of my most anticipated Wii U games of the year, and my younger brother happens to be a fan of both Yoshi and Kirby's Epic Yarn, so if it comes out before August, I feel Yoshi's Wooly World would make a great birthday present for him. Here's hoping then!
I'm betting for a Direct this week.
Besides talking Yoshi's Woolly World, there's Mario Maker, Mario Party 10 and lots of stuff Nintendo hasn't promoted yet.
@ToxieDogg The Australian ratings always appear earlier than others iirc, this has been the case with every game that has had a worldwide release.
This game looks delightful and I can't wait for a hard release date. I wouldn't be so optimistic as to expect a Direct this week, but I would certainly be ecstatic if that was the case.
Lets see if we can finally get a good Yoshi game, one that's not mediocre.
April would be a good month for this to come out w/ MP10 in March and Splatoon in May. But Japan is getting XCX in April. And considering it wasn't even in the last ND. And where the heck is Mario Maker? Nothing currently lined up for summer w/ Zelda and Starfox due end of 2015 so summer may be better for Yoshi than April.
And I wouldn't 'expect an ND this week, it's still Feb, next week when it's March would make more sense. Though come to think of it I can't remember the last time Nintendo did something that "made sense".
Edit - Is this really only a 2 player game? LBP has had 4 player plus online for 7 years now. Kirby looked like it was going to be solo player for awhile before they announced 4 player so I'm hopeing they can make this 4 player as well.
I'm really looking forward to this game. Most of all because of how fun and, more importantly, forgiving the multiplayer looks. That's great since my player 2 is a casual gamer
@Hero-of-WiiU Maybe we can finally return to the glory days of YI SNES...
looks adorkable, but not sure how "fun" it will be, Yoshi's Story on N64 was a bore, but most of the Yoshi's islands were great, although I've yet to play the 3DS version, the art style is strange in that one.
Oh my gosh, I can't wait for this game to come out! Been waiting for it since January of 2013!
Can't wait for this!! My fiancée and I are looking forward to playing through it together, just like we did with Mario 3D World.
Late March would be a nice surprise. I am hyped for this one. Great game to play with my kids.
gotta be an easter release.. I predict Friday 3rd April!
If you haven't played Kirby's Epic Yarn yet, go pick it up now (it's only $20 on Amazon). It's fantastic, and this one looks like it's going to be just as great.
Sweet! I'll be getting this on launch. Hopefully if there is a Nintendo direct they will also give some more details on Star Fox and when that will be launching.
two player ONLINE!!!????
@ToxieDogg
Seems fair enough to me.
Yay !! i loved the 3DS Yoshi game it was amazing and a great game with no timer limits so could find everything at own pace So glad this is coming to wii u i hope it plays like the 3DS game.
I wish wish wish they would make a 3DS player for Wii U that goes on the bottom so you can play 3DS games on a big screen and the wii u tablet as the bottom screen.
@jenkje We still have to see Splatoon
It looks as dull as knitting.
I'm so tired of these mush platformers by Nintendo. More platformers like DK and Metroid.
I can't wait for this title - looking forward to an experience that never takes the smile off my face
I WANT THAT YARN YOSHI IRL
I barely saw the trailer for these game last week for the first time. That's all it took to add this to my day one buy list
@rjejr said this is exactly like Rainbow Curse, so I think we don't need this game, Nintendo should just cancel it.
Im really excited for this title! Considering every Yoshi game ive ever played has been outstanding and the fact that this particular entry is being made by Good Feel, the ones behind Kirbys Epic Yarn, one of my all time favorites! Yeah this game will without a doubt be amazing!
