Ronimo Games is best known by Nintendo fans for its release of Swords & Soldiers on the WiiWare service back in 2009. Less acclaimed was the release of the 3D version of the game on the 3DS eShop last year. However way you've heard about the Netherlands-based studio and its side-scrolling strategy game, the developer is pleased to announce its latest title Swords & Soldiers II is coming to the Wii U as a downloadable game.
According to the few details released so far, the sequel to the 2009 original will involve Redbeard and his gang of burly Vikings in an all-new adventure. Throughout his journey, Redbeard will make new friends and enemies, with barbecue parties no longer being the sole focus — it’s now more about saving the world!
Further information regarding Swords and Soldiers II for Wii U will be revealed at GDC in a few weeks time. It’ll also be playable at PAX East. In the meantime, check out the announcement teaser below:

Hp hip hooray. One of my all time favorite games finally getting a sequel. Can't wait.
Ooh, nice! The original was great!
I really like the original.
They should bring Awesomenauts to Wii U!
That's cool. Wish the 3DS port of the first was better. Might still get it on sale anyway.
The sheep are always getting a bad deal
serious wii u retail support rubbish eshop support getting pretty damn impressive.
NOW GIVE US FOLDERS scrolling along for 5 minutes these days to get to a game
Awesome, I liked the original a lot.
Always happy to see smaller developers making games for consoles I own, most of the innovation in gaming is coming from these smaller studios.
Love it. LOVE IT.
never heard or played, but I'm down to give it a try.
yes Yes YES
Got up, read this = instantly made my day Awesome, The original is one of my all time favourite WiiWare titles.
It's good news that swords & soldiers is getting a sequel and it's coming the Wii U, but personally I think Castlestorm has tweaked this formula to perfection. It will be interesting to see how this game turns out.
Wow, a lot of support.
Thank you!!!! Can not wait!
Good news indeed! I really enjoyed the last one. Go dutch!
I only played this on PC and it was kinda meh but depending on how the second one turns out i may bite.
Yep, the Wii U clearly doesn't have any 3rd party suport.
Does everyone forget the eShop exists? And Indies too?
@ZeroZX_Dev For some reason the console gaming world both media and most fans consider most indies a separate entity.
Cool, I will buy it.
This is great news! I loved the one on wiiware. This one could benefit from two player games with one on gamepad and another on tv, and maybe 4 players online? Ooooh, online would rock
Sweet, can't wait for this game.

We are done here.
The original is well made, with lots of flair!
Here's hoping for more of both in the sequel.
@Anguspuss
more... like 5 seconds.... if it takes you longer, then you need to organize your Wii u menu better. Not saying that folders wouldn't be good.
@Emblem
Pretty much this, look at Steam even, you can select a Category for "Indie"
Just an intro. Can't do much with it
Awesome! I loved the first one so I can't see why the sequel would be any different.
