Back in December Nintendo announced that the HAWPOfficial channel was the winner of its YouTube challenge, in which a number of popular content creators were given the goal of producing videos inspired by Super Mario 3D World or The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD. The winner had the chance to work on a Donkey Kong: Tropical Freeze project with Freddy Wong, one of YouTube's major success stories with millions of subscribers.
The video has had a premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in Utah and, as you'd expect, is now available to view online. It riffs on some iconic Donkey Kong props, albeit without directly referencing Tropical Freeze in any way, and seems to have gone down well on the RocketJump channel.
Check it out below and let us know what you think, and you can also see a behind the scenes video and the original winning entry.

Pretty cool
That was awesome..Loved every second.
Uhm....what was that?
If their goal was to make me laugh, mission accomplished!
Love the Hey Ash Whatcha Playing videos. And Ash + Nintendo is even better. This is awesome! Haha
Great!
It's pretty good. A little choppy, a little amateur, but fun! My favorite little bit is how they didn't attempt to put people into the barrel a realistic way (into the actual opening), but put them in sideways just like the game barrels allow.
i know that guy he have some good videos.
