Adventure time fans yearning for new characters to dungeon-crawl with in the Wii U's Adventure Time: Explore the Dungeon Because I DON'T KNOW! will be pleased to discover that a fresh batch of DLC is now available. The downloadable content, which is currently up for purchase on the Wii U eShop, features three new characters:
- Princess Bubblegum's (admittedly creepy) right hand man, Peppermint Butler
- Gunter, Ice King's beloved pet penguin who has a penchant for curiosity
- King of Mars, who bears a striking resemblance to one Abraham Lincoln
Each character can be purchased for £1.59/$1.99 on the eShop. Players can use these new characters alongside others to fight through colourful locales both new and familiar to Adventure Time fans with four player co-op. Which new character are you looking forward to using the most?

It is annoying this one is pretty readily available in the UK but I don't want it. The 3DS version of the Zelda 2 like one on the other hand is not available in the UK at all. (Could import the DS one but I don't want to).
Not bad, not bad at all, but, nothing special.
@unrandomsam I imported the DS version, and I don't regret doing it! It's a really nice game, especially since it is indeed a Zelda 2 clone with Adventure Time skins and humour. Still, I'm also not happy it didn't release in Europe for 3ds. US even got an amazing collector's edition...
$3.00 per char for Australia :/
@unrandomsam It appears we were supposed to get that in December. It never transpired.
GOTY 2014
Too bad this is a horrible game, i expect it will have sold off brand name alone though. I'm not sure anyone will spring for paid DLC though, they should have atleast given 1 char free as an apology for how rushed and bad the game is.
Yeah, don't care.
This DLC came out weeks ago in North America.
This game is boring. It does some ideas well, but it's just tedious to go through these levels, that don't do alot different from the last 10 you just beat.
Wayforward, used to make excellent licensed games. What happened?
I love 'Hey, Ice King!', but this just really looked like a step backward. Playing as Gunter would be pretty darned sweet, though.
Is this just for Europe? The DLC hit NA December 19th.
Personally I don't find the game to be nearly as bad as other people say it is. It's a little simple, but continues to change up the enemies as you get farther, adding to the challenge. The bosses are all unique and the fully voiced characters are a treat. If it starts to get repetitive, I just take a break and come back to it later.
In case anyone actually does care though, the new characters do have their own unique playstyles. I've only purchased Gunter, but he moves at a decent base speed, and has no basic attack but can equip two sub-weapons and has infinite ammo with them.
I'll pass. I don't hate the game, but finding the motivation to play it is difficult.
@BooJoh Haven't bought it yet, wasn't going to due to all the bad reviews, but seeing how much my 7 year old daughter is a massive Adventure Time fangirl, I think it will be worth a buy.
I'd pay any amount to play as Gunter!
for me this is worth the money i wished dlc for at least call of duty ghosts and assassins creed 4 blackflag but that ship has passed.
I really want to play as the Party God.
