Bubbul Gems are a brand new collectible in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. You'll likely get one of these as early as the Great Sky Island, but the game doesn't really tell you want to do with them — it just gives you a vague description of what they are and tempts you to collect more.
Fear not, that's what we're here for. Bubbul Gems are well worth seeking out as you can spend them to get new armour sets and useful materials. In this guide, we'll cover everything you need to know about these snowflake-style crystals, including what they are, how to get them, and where to spend them.

Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom: What Are Bubbul Gems?
What is a Bubble Gem?
A Bubbul Gem is a collectible item that is dropped by Bubbulfrogs, a brand-new creature found in Tears of the Kingdom
You'll find Bubbulfrogs throughout Hyrule, both in the Sky and on the Surface, in the game's caves and wells. All you need to do is hit it with an arrow, and it will fall off the wall, fade away, and drop a Bubbul Gem.
Where to find Bubbulfrogs
Every single Bubbulfrog in Tears of the Kingdom has a Bubbul Gem. And you can find Bubbulfrogs inside all of the caves that have appeared across Hyrule in Tears of the Kingdom.
They're often clinging to the wall or the ceiling, and they make a rather distinctive noise, so you'll know when you're close to them, Every single cave has one, and when you find it, it will get ticked off on the map.
What do I do with Bubbul Gems?
Bubbul Gems can be traded for rewards such as armour and materials. But to be able to trade them, you need to find the right merchant and complete a Side Adventure., The Hunt for Bubbul Gems!
Kilton, the monster part collector, returns in Tears of the Kingdom, but this time he's joined by his older brother Koltin. Koltin is looking for Bubbul Gems because he wants to into a Satori.
Where to find Kilton and Koltin
These unusual brothers can be found northeast of Lookout Landing. Head towards Woodland Stable, right by Pico Pond at around coordinates 1090, 1143, 0021. They're hard to miss as you'll see a very colourful hot-air balloon with a familiar face standing next to it.
Once you find them, speak to Kilton to initiate the quest.
How to complete The Hunt for Bubbul Gems!
This quest is pretty straightforward — all you need to do is give Koltin a Bubbul Gem. You might already have one, and if you do, great — hand it over! If not, you're right next to a cave, so you can head in and nab one right now.
Pico Pond Cave isn't very deep, and you'll find a Bubbulfrog inside. Hit it with an arrow and pick up your reward. Then, head back outside and give it to Koltin. You'll get a Bokoblin Mask for your troubles. Koltin will then head off to fulfil his dream of becoming a Satori, which means if you want to spend more Bubbul Gems, you'll need to find him.
How to complete The Search for Koltin
Once Koltin has gone off on his journey to find Bubbul Gems, you'll have to seek him out in order to spend your hard-earned ones for more armour sets.
You can actually run into Koltin entirely by chance at any time after 9pm, but if you want to hunt him down quickly, you'll need to go and talk to Kilton, who has relocated to Tarrey Town. Kilton will tell you where you can find Koltin next, and you'll have to head on over to his location. We'll have a list of all of the locations he can appear in below.
Once you've found Koltin, talk to him and you'll complete the quest.
How many Bubbul Gems are there?
There are reportedly 147 Bubbul Gems to collect in Tears of the Kingdom. You only need 47 of them to complete The Search for Koltin and get all of the rewards from Koltin's store.
However, collecting all 147 of them and giving them to Koltin will get you a final reward.
What are cherry blossom trees for?
Cherry blossom trees look beautiful, but they have a second purpose. If you come across a cherry blossom tree, drop a piece of fruit in the bowl at the foot of the tree in there.
If you do that, Satori will be summoned and it will temporarily light up caves that still have Bubbulfrogs inside of them. You'll see blue columns in the general area around the tree.

Twilight Princess' Magic Armor returns!
It does make me wish that one of the Twilight Princess amiibo gave the magic armor set. As long as the Wolf doesn't become an ally like BotW, I think it should drop the Magic armor.
There’s another Koltin location out on the Cliffs of Quince in Necluda (coordinates 2524, -1717, 0108).
