Star Fox’s True Ending all hinges on your run ending at Venom 2.

This alternative version of Venom can only be accessed from one location, Area 6, provided you take the correct alternative routes to reach it before the end.

How To Reach Venom 2 In Star Fox

Venom 2 in Star Fox is an alternative version of the final planet, and reaching it has a single requirement: your penultimate stage must be Area 6.

Area 6 is on the Hard route, but know you don't actually need to traverse the full Hard route to get there. Instead, you can take a mixture of stages elsewhere along the routes map, and provided you end up at Area 6, Venom 2 will always follow.

Some suggestions on reaching Venom 2 include:

  • Taking the full Hard route (Corneria, Sector Y, Aquas, Zoness, Sector Z, Area 6, Venom 2)
  • Reaching Sector X, then Sector Z, Area 6, Venom 2
  • Reaching Sector X, then Macbeth, Area 6, Venom 2
  • Reaching Solar, then Macbeth, Area 6, Venom 2
  • Reaching Zoness, then Macbeth, Area 6, Venom 2

Essentially, provided you have not progressed past Sector Z, Sector X or Macbeth, you are not yet locked out of the True Ending, where there are routes available to you to reach Area 6, and in turn, Venom 2.

How To Get The True Ending In Star Fox

Once you have reached Venom 2, all you have to do is beat the stage to see the True Ending.

Venom 2 differs from regular Venom by opening with a dogfight with Star Wolf and crew, before entering a series of subterranean tunnels and ending at the true form Andross fight.

We won't spoil what happens beyond that - but the regular ending will state that Andross might rise again, suggesting you take on the hard route and find the true ending to finish the conflict for good.
