Didn't see a reletively recent Runbow thread, so I'm making one! It looks like its gonna be a lot of fun and it even supports up to 9 players! With a unique brand of asymmetrical gameplay allowing one player to control the colors that shape the terrain the other eight players race and fight on. It's supposed to be coming this Summer, so I'm pretty hyped for this game!
It even got a new trailer, today, showing off the guest characters. It's like an indie Smash Bros!
I wonder if later on they will add more indie characters, like Runner 2 did. I wish Armillo would be here, but he does not have the required body shape for this.
I will comment in this thread, never being able to find it again.
Oh! I just noticed! There's a screen at the end showing seven or eight blacked out characters in a silhouette! I can't make out most of them, but the bottom left is almost certainly Beck from Mighty No. 9 and I think I can make out what might be Quote (Cave Story) and Clive (Gunman Clive).
I wonder if runbow will become popular enough to actually become a legitimate indie smash bros, in depth mechanics and balancing, haha. Honestly, it blows my mind something like that doesn't exist already with how often indie devs have their character cameo in another game for exposure. It'd be so much fun, I dream of something like that.
I was never interested in this game until all the indie characters were revealed and seeing that there will be even more definitely has my interest. I need to look up more stuff on it but I might pick it up depending on the price. I think Drifter from Hyper Light Drifter might be one of the characters at the end. Looks like one has a cape which might be him.
Ok, so the screen that flashes at the end had me thinking for quite a while, but I think I've figured out MOST of the characters in that last shot. I'll list them numbered left to right then top to bottom.
1. ???
2. Gunman Clive
3. Ms. Johnson (the female character from Gunman Clive)
4. Shantae
5. Beck (Mighty No. 9)
6. ?!?!?!?!?!
7. The girl from A Hat in Time (does she have a name, yet?)

These are mostly just guesses and I'm sure I'll be wrong about at least one of these characters, but I'd be pretty stoked if this was the next eight characters. What if we have eight MORE characters after that? Could be fuuuun. 26 character roster? It really would be the Indie Smash Bros! Oh, and no. FEZ will never get in. (Sweet, we even have our first hate target!) His creator hates gamers, so he's not invited! XD
I'm firmly convinced Nintendo NEEDS to give this game some serious exposure. It's exclusive, it uses the GamePad in a unique way. It's got Nintendo levels of fan service, and it's a great game for letting the gameplay speak for itself. Nintendi, for the love of all that is fun and amusing, put a demo of this up at E3!
I'm really hyped for this. I will be able to fill out the game from time to time, so I'll download regardless, but I hope there's also an interesting solo mode. Even if its just standard platforming with a series of well-designed levels, ala Cloudberry Kingdom. Nothing groundbreaking, but sufficient for passing time alone.

Also, I think the characters at the end of the second trailer are the ones announced in the latest trailer. That looks like Shovel Knight in the middle to me, with Juan on the far right. I could be wrong, but it would seem strange to me to tease new characters, then, a month and a half later, reveal a bunch of new characters who aren't the ones you teased.

Most of them, yeah. Juan is on the far right with Scram Kitty next to him, Shovel Knight is in the middle, and Swift Thornebrook is on the far left, Maybe the one left of Scram Kitty is Tostada, but it could also be Ms. Johnson. The one to the right of Swift appears to be Beck and the one to the right of him could be... The Limbo Kid? Or the kid from Teslagrad? Hard to tell, but he doesnt match any of the characters from the guest trailer.

The Xbox One game #IDARB has a whole ton of indie characters in it. It even has ads for their games set up around the playing field, like a real sport.
⬇︎ Well here is its page on Pure Xbox. The game lets you create your own characters too so if you want to play as a soufflé, you can. I played it once, it's okay.
OH! I feel dumb. I just now saw that there are more silhouettes on the last trailer. At the end of the indie character announcement trailer, there's a handful more characters being hinted at. One of them is probably, indeed, Beck, but I can't tell who any others are.

If it's released after E3, we could at least expect Treehouse developer interviews just like Guacamelee etc last year.
But compared to a game like Affordable Space Adventures, Runbow seems to be nothing in terms of Gamepad usage, originality, production values, etc.
