If it's well-vented it might be fine, but I'm not positive
This. Make sure it has room to breathe or it might overheat.
That said, as long as you don't leave a disc in the console (which for some ridiculous reason the Wii U keeps spinning even if the game isn't being played), this is just a download and so the console won't have any moving parts operating, so it shouldn't be generating too much heat.
Any reason why Nintendo download speeds are so slow. I downloaded Arkham City on Saturday and it took around 2 hours.
It's because Nintendo's infrastructure on the delivery side of things is incredibly slow. Both the 3DS and Wii U have the technology for downloads as fast as what you see on the PS3/ PC/ Xbox 360/ Vita/ ipad, but for some reason actual download speeds don't even come close. Imagine Uncharted 3, 89 GB game, off the Wii U, haha.
@Sony_70 Probably due to their servers and the connections from them. They might still have old infrastructure in place since they're not really sure how to move the data to new infrastructure in the least obstructive manner possible. Generally, you don't want to shut down your network for too long of a time (intentional or not intentional) or else the users start complaining.

How long would a similar game take to download on the different consoles though? I'm gonna Google it now, but I get the same speed of downloading for every device I have. Granted, I have 7mb/s to work with, which isn't the max of any of the consoles, but there's way more people on a budget or don't care that much for internet to have a fast internet.
Sony probably pays alot to get fast internet rates that only 20% of people use.
Not that I care. Sony can do what they want, but it costs money to get fast downloads going on either end.
EDIT: I don't know anyone with an internet speed higher than 3MB besides me. Even when CenturyLink or Comcast offer highspeed internet starting at $20 for 20MB, that's only under optimal conditions. I live with my parents, and they pay for 20mb/s, but still continue to get 7mb/s max because of our location, and we don't live in the mountains or desert.
My friend got it a couple of days before for 20 bucks for ps3, I honestly didn't care about the price though, It was a game I've never played before so I didn't mind paying full price, I personally can say I like the game so far so I think it was worth it in my case at least
