Topic: Zaxxon out today

Well, this week's Virtual Console update includes Zaxxon for VCA. I've tried that game before and still can't understand it. You guys from the Golden Age of Arcades will probably enjoy it, I'm sure.

Well the original arcade cabinet had a flight stick to use which made it easier to control your ship. It does not translate that well to a controller. It just takes a lot of practice.

I kinda want to try it. Looks hard though.

800 Wii Points is a rip off for Zaxxon, it should 500 IMO.

My suggestion is to always pound away on the fire button that way you know if your elevation is right to clear a wall or the laser gates.
800 points is pretty high, but still good fun IMO.

Blah. VC Arcade has been such a disappointment. All the great arcade titles they could bring us and we get this crap.

It's not crap.

A lot of the games on VCA are Underatted (i.e The Tower of Druaga).

The VCA has not been a dissapointment.

I would say the VCA has been a disappointment not because I don't like Sega, Tecmo, and Namco's games, because Nintendo just does not provide enough support for the service compared to Japan. Who wants to wait till 2013 to see classic arcade games from the 80's reach the North American VC.

Zaxxon is not crap. Its overpriced, but it can be fun once you get the hang of the controls. It takes practice and some patience but it can be rewarding and fun. If I had to rate it, I would give it a 6 or 7.

Meh, i was going to get this, but not at 800 points, i'll stick to MAME if i need a Zaxxon fix.

VCA has been a disappointment in the US, if only because there are so very few games. But it does have Rygar. And this is a very good thing.
