Topic: Wii points nightmare

I've had 800 points stored on my Wii since November which were for Super Mario Kart. Today Rondo of Blood was released so I thought a chance at last to shift those points. Well turns out Rondo is 900 points so I had to buy an extra 1000 to get it. This means I'm now left with 900 points instead!! Argh! OK so I have some ready for when Mario Kart is released but that's still 100 points left over.

Anyone else have trouble shifting their points or do you just use them up on what you can get for them rather than what you want?

Nah, I just buy 5000 points whenever I need more than I have. Saves the hassle, I know I'll use them eventually anyway.

I just save up my leftovers for when something good comes out.

As @ogo79 said, the SNS-RZ-USA is a prime giveaway that it's not a legit retail cart.
And yes, he is (usually) always right, and he is (almost) the sexiest gamer out there (not counting me) ;)

Yeah I just buy 3000-5000 whenever I don't have enough points for a game, then use them when I decide I want something.

Have a gameplan. Figure the games you want, then add up the points with different combinations of games then buy the points you need. Simple.

I've had 100 points sitting in my console for months now.
Just think, 100 is... however much it is wherever you are and also think, you've ALWAYS got spare money in your wallet (hopefully) so that could be seen as spare money you'll spend sometime. Just forget it even exists.
I agree with Starfox, save your leftovers instead of getting some DLC you know you don't even want. (If you do want it that's another story)

I'm pretty choosy about my downloads, but if I really need my fix, I try something new. That's why I got Wrecking Crew. It turned out to be a good choice.

Heh, I have OCD when it comes to that. Always calculating and aiming for the zero...

If you have 100 leftover, and get a 2000 card, then with 2100 you can buy two SNES games and one NES game to get the zero. But there are other ways.

that's NOT OCD.

This isn't about recommendations, and he did not ask which one he should get. Read the question again.

@Storm Owl, your avatar is giving me flashbacks to some bad acid I dropped back in 93.

Ah, the benefits of not being picky! There are dozens of games I want from Virtual Console and WiiWare, so instead of worrying about being left with odd point values I'm just concerned about never having nearly enough points to spend.

Just make a plan and stick to it. If you have 100 points now, then buy 2000 more and you'll be all set for games: 2 SNES/Genesys and 1 NES; or 1 NES and 1 TG-16 game 1 N64/WiiWare; or 1 NeoGeo and 1 TG-16 and 1 C64; or... well, you get the point. It's not hard to spend the points, just plan ahead for what you want (or keep saving those leftovers until they add up to a full game you really wanted anyway).

Currently I've got 1100 left after picking up Rondo of Blood and Rage of the Gladiator. (Both games surprised me with how awesome they were.) Hopefully Cave Story will ring up for less than that amount... otherwise I'll have to stock up on points again really soon.

There's loads of ways to use that spare 100 when you make it 1100 or 2100. I don't find it a big deal myself - certainly not a "nightmare." I expect you'll hit a time when you'll wish you had 100 points laying about so you can buy a couple of bargain games!

hahaha wow. Irony

Personally if I've got 500 points left over I'll buy something, even if I didn't really want it.
