My Wii keeps freezing and when it does, a loud constant sound accompanies it. It has happened while playing downloads and discs. I can't turn it off or reset it via the buttons on the front. The only way to turn it off is to unplug it. Once it's on again it plays fine. At first I thought I might have played too long, but it happens even when I've been playing for a few minutes. Has anyone heard of this?
u gotta call them and they will tell u that u have to send in your wii! then i think when they finish fixing it the bill u or somethin. why dont you just call and ask

I wanted to see if anyone has also experienced this and if there was a simple fix. I don't want to send my Wii away needlessly. I also wanted to know how much repairs from Nintendo usually cost.
I have it too, online in the conduit usually, its like a frequency sound that keeps going and you cant do anything other than unplug it, yup i know that, dont send it in, its not worth messing your mii data and wii data for. Just unplug and restart, its not a huge deal to me.

My Wii makes loud sounds but only when play discs, and there's no freezing. I was concerned but it's gone on for almost a year with no problems. I'd call Nintendo if you're having freezing AND it's making the sound with downloads. I've just got a loose screw in the disc drive.

I did that when it first started happening months ago. The problem is now more frequent. It could possibly be a heat issue.
I Googled "wii freeze buzz sound" (minus quotation marks), it seems like there are many others with the same problem.
It's probably because your Wii is overheating. Mine did the same thing not to long ago. I recommend keeping it on the stand and turning it off for a while.
