I love that lil dude so much. I've just been reading something and it seems the NPC controls might be point and click instead of analogue. I'm not sure if I like the sound of that. Hhmm.

NPC Chibi Robo has been out in Japan for a couple of months now. I'm also hoping it gets a worldwide release and holding off on the Gamecube version.

I though Pikmin 2 was already released in Europe -- I assume that's just North America going without then?

@Sean: Yes it's been out a while here. As for Chibi, the lack of info is a bit worrying, and I don't like the changes that are being made. If it aint broke, don't fix it. But that is NPC I guess, I'm still sore from Mario Tennis being gimped.

Damn, I really hope both these games get released at some point. My first contact with the Pikmin series was through the NPC Pikmin and now I'm dying to play the second one. And I'm really curious about Chibi-Robo too.

I've been wanting to pick up Pikmin 1 NPC for a while now, since I missed out on the original GCN version. I've been kinda holding off on buying it, making sure an announcement for the US release of Pikmin 2 is made before I make my move.

I don't see what bearing the original Pikmin has on the second one; I enjoyed it for what it is without feeling the need for a sequel.

I'll probably end up getting the Gamecube version of Chibi Robo if I can get it cheap rather than seeing if NoE eventually decides to bring out the NPC version -- I'm under the impression it wasn't a big seller on Gamecube, so they might be a bit gunshy? Either that or waiting to announce titles like this and Excite Bots until after New Super Mario Bros. (a game I have zero interest in) comes out?

Chibi Robo is a very ordinary GC and a very poor DS game.

Not missed here.

IGN: The holiday Wii lineup looks thin for the hardcore crowd. We see this. Gamers see this. What, if anything, is Nintendo planning to address it?

Oh good, I am neither a gamer or hardcore. Saves me from having to be IGNorant.

But, the knowledge that a second game exists keeps me from taking the plunge into a new series...well for me at least.

Well, I'm in the camp that enjoyed Pikmin for what it was and saw no need for a much longer sequel without the compelling goal of the original game. If they are doing a 3rd one specifically for the Wii it will have to do more than just be "like 2, but bigger!" or I'm not going to be getting that either.

I know, I know.

I liked Chibi Robo, but did not love it. He is cute. It is an interesting idea. But just not rocksolid gameplay for me. And I save up for the car and I can only drive it in a minigmae...eh deflation.

Park Patrol though, have to say on my short time on it, I hated it.

Chibi-Robo is an underdog. A classic. The Gamecube original was a very unique adventure with RPG elements. It was the funniest game I played in years since... since.. Conker's Bad Fur Day. Hilarious characters, a cool story, many sidequests, tons of secrets, some stunningly innovative puzzles and a quirky soundtrack. One of my favourite games ever. Pure genious.

I imported the second game Chibi-Robo Park Partrol on the DS from America. While at first it seemed nowhere as good as the original, it got better and better, until I played it for over 10 consecutive days without playing something else in between. The first Chibi Robo game gets a fair 10/10 from me, the second is a 9/10. The first because it's so much fun, the second because it's so addictive and customizable.

I would have never expected that Chibi Robo is so good.
If the remake comes to the Wii, I would buy it again. Can't have enough Chibi Robo.

Super Paper Mario is the only game after Chibi Robo that comes to my mind, that had so funny hilarious dialogues (and tons of stuff to find).

Outrunner

Agree. Chibi-robo was a big surprise to me. I loved it just as much as any Zelda or Metroid and it had such a good story. I never did finish it though. I remember getting stuck quite late on.
