What will it take to get Sega CD games on the VC? I'm considering getting a Sega CD because the Wii apparently can't support Sega CD games.

Sega CD games had a lot of FMV which would prevent them coming to the VC (the TG16 CD games didn't) so you may as well get a proper Sega CD.

Edgey, Gumshoe, Godot, Sissel, Larry, then Mia, Franziska, Maggie, Kay and Lynne.

I'm throwing my money at the screen but nothing happens!

Even the better games on the system aren't that expensive, so yeah, don't bother waiting for it, especially since it'll probably never arrive anyways.

Yeah, I'll get the Sega CD. I'm only getting Sonic CD and Ecco.

I suppose it depends on your opinion of "better", but there's a few expensive games on the system. Snatcher and Lunar 2 can go for $50 for the CD alone, and Keio: Flying Squadron goes for over $150.

Why settle with just those? There's far better games on the system for around the same price, after all.

Those games games aren't worth the exorbadant price. There's plenty of quality games that don't cost more than $30, such as:

  • The Dark Wizard
  • Silpheed
  • Final Fight CD
  • Vay
  • Eye of the Beholder
  • NBA Jam
  • Time Gal
  • Road Rash
  • Robo Aleste

Among others.

Totally agree with you there Mickey those are some good games. I personally thought Final Fight CD was better than the SNES version. Not only did it have the two player mode and Guy but the remixed music was good too. They also had the girls in it as well where as because of Nintendo's policy at the time were changed for the SNES version. A much more faithful home version of the Arcade version IMO.

I also liked the Sega CD version of Mortal Kombat as well which like Final Fight CD a much more faithful version to the Arcade version, plus I like how the had the commerical to MK as an extra I remember when I saw that for the first time on tv.

NBA Jam is another good one. I had that version and never really bothered with the SNES of Sega Genesis version of that game. Once again another game thats really close to the Arcade game. Heck if I still had my Sega CD I would not have probably bought the Wii version of NBA Jam at least not this soon.

If you have a retro game store in your area than you can probably find those games pretty cheap if not I am sure you can find them on Ebay and Amazon cheap as well.

But yeah I agree if you have a Genesis than finding a Sega CD is probably going to be easier than waiting for Sega CD games to come to the VC.

I wish I could find a cheap MEGA CD but they go for loads of money...especially when most of the second hand versions have problems with them already.

I think Sega 32x games are more likely to make it to the VC than Sega CD games.

Size-wise at least. Too bad the system only had 4 or 5 games worth owning.
