It seems weird to get mad at how other people rate games. Everyone is different, and everyone likes things differently. This is just a forum on a video game, just for fun.

@AlexSays: Yeah, I usually have to repeat everything twice around my friends, so it's understandable
Anyway, I don't know how you never got banned from this place ever. I make one little criticism to Drake's review, and them I'm off the site for 6 months. Maybe he was just having a bad day though
Swordplay: 10 Bowling: 9 Archery: 10 WakeBoarding: 10 Basketball: 0 Air Sports: 10 Frisbee: 2 Power Cruising: 1
That's all that I've tried so far.
LOL, those are some radically different scores, there, metal plumber. Why the low score on Frisbee? If you suck at it (like I did), it requires lots of practice. It's really like throwing a real frisbee.

I'm in good with the staff.
I buy them each a thing of Tylenol every two weeks and take them all out to lunch on the third Monday of every month.
Hrm... I think I'd have to play each one a lot, but I think most can be easily assessed from one brief play cough WAKEBOARDING cough
Swordplay - 9: Great, I practically play every mode, though the duel could do with more matches, I feel 2 out of 3's quite short.
Wakeboarding - 4: It's not terrible, but it's not deep, it seems the more you shake the more points, while actual movements would be preferable, and I don't find it awfully fun.
Frisbee - 8: As much as I suck at it it's got 2 modes that I still play a lot as frisbee golf I actually prefer to the real golf, and the actual frisbee dog's good but, again, it's not too deep with no difficulties or any kind of development.
Archery - 9: I again suck at this but it's got 3 difficulties, it's great fun to play, especially with someone else, and that's really it, there's not much else you can do with archery (though they did a lot with moving targets and such in later levels )
Basketball - 7: It's really only a 7 again because there's room for maybe some difficulties added in, or at least another mode with more balls, possibly the mii positioned further away, though it's still great fun (though probably the easiest to adapt to). The actual match was deeper than I thought it'd be seeing as it's barely mentioned in reviews, though it'd been better if you were able to maybe move the player (as weird as holding a nunchuck to move and a wiimote used as an arm would be but hey, it'd work)
Table Tennis - 9: I would've given it an 8 but it's great fun, really shows off M+ for what it is, as much as swordplay. It's a pity how, again, there's a lack of modes, though the addition of skill points for the matches are good. Would prefer to have matches longer than 6, but it's not too bad.
Golf - 7.5: Admittedly this score could be due to preference but sometimes the addition of twisiting the wiimote to curve the ball is quite annoying when what you think is straight is not (o.k, maybe it IS because I suck). Not just that, but, while you can't give many twists too golf, and while 18 holes is a lot, there's not much else (but 18 holes is why I gave it an extra .5)
Bowling - 8: Well, it's bowling with 2 new modes (copied from the random training mode that I was disappointed at it not including, but that's slightly nit-picky). You can recognise that it's slightly more sensitive than Wii Sports (i.e, I can't just jerk my wrist to the side to make it spin perfectly into the centre, but actually HAVE to bowl slightly more properly), and the 100 pin mode is satisfying, likewise the spin control.
Power Cruising - 8: I haven't really played this much, so really what I remember of it is me screwing up a lot, but seeing as there were 12 stages (though unless they included something I've missed, it's really just various paths) plus a vs., there's not too much too offer, but still, it was fun.
Canoeing - 7: I have to agree with most reviewers that it's not the best game but they really did criticise it sharply, I mean there ARE 3 difficulties, it's pretty fun, and even the training mode beforehand has a nice little mini-game. Plus it's the only game that uses 4 M+'s at the same time (why anyone would need 4 is beyond me, unless virtua tennis 09 has doubles). Also the addition of obstacles in harder difficulties is nice, alike to the varied difficulties for archery.
Cycling - 7.5: I have to give credit where credit's due here, and as while controls occasionally feel iffy, and it's very weird to go back to waggling (though I think moving them exactly like you would move your feet would be slightly impractical), there seems to be a lot going for it, with vs. and 6 stages which are pretty varied (especially with the occaisonal obstacle like canoeing)
Air Sports - 9: I knew I'd love it, I loved it, yippee. Well, it's just a great way to relax from other games, and it's genuinely great fun exploring the maps, following... that guy, popping the balloons, e.t.c. The addition of times, while adding to the replay of finding the areas again, doesn't add too much to island flyover, but it's still great. Really I gave island flyover a 10, dogfighting (which I haven't even played but given videos and the simple idea of it, I think I know I'd like it) a 9, and skydiving a 7 because, unlike some people here, I didn't find it too fun, I would have prefered (again with the preferences) landing on a target (like pilotwings o.o)
Overall I'd give Wii Sports Resort a solid 8.5 (yes this has really just turned out to be one big review, hasn't it xD). It really shows you that the controls make the games that much more fun (and actually possible), and it's deeper than face value, however there are quite a few areas that could have been improved, as some things are lacking (like the random training and fitness sections of the original, which I liked quite a bit)
@LinktotheFuture: Seriously? They added a secret that could essentially better my review? xD I mean I didn't look at any secrets on the other topic because I wanted to figure them out, but they should really hint at that somehow (i.e, tell you to hold some buttons before a match and something will happen)
But thanks for telling me that, I'll have fun having a prolonged match with the champion

@ChristeriousNinja: Sorry, I didn't mean to ruin any surprises. You might check out the Secrets Thread here, there are some pretty cool things there that make this amazing game even better.

I've had the game for only a week now and I just yesterday had my first good multiplayer session with a friend of mine so my scores might be off a little, but here we go. Everything out of ten.
Swordplay - 8. i find the Duel mode can be a little one-sided. If you get an opening, you can almost always kick them off the platform. Speed Slice is super fun. Showdown is great, wish there was a two-player option for that.
Wakeboarding - 10. I LOVE this game. I think it's ridiculously fun. A little random, sure, but for anyone who thinks shaking the remote = not fun, then you obviously haven't played Wario Land Shake It.
Frisbee - 7. To be honest, I haven't played this much yet. Frisbee Dog didn't compel me to play too much, but I did have a blast with Frisbee Golf multiplayer. I think this mode has serious longevity but I just haven't had time for it yet.
Archery - 9. Awesome. The motion control feels wonderful and the crazy Expert level is something only Nintendo could have come up with.
Basketball - 9. I did not think this would be good. I don't know why. But it is surprisingly fun and engrossing. The shooting is fairly accurate and the 3 on 3 pickup game is unbelievably fun. I love how the play mechanics change based on the circumstance. A definite standout in the whole WSR.
Table Tennis - 10. Incredible. I love how you can spin on the ball, the speed of play. It's miles ahead of any type of ping-pong or tennis simulator I've played before (now I really want to get Virtua Tennis. is it as good??)
Golf - 8. Haven't played the new one much but it was my favorite from the first game, so I've given this a high score just cause.
Bowling - 7. Also haven't played much. Liked the original but did not love it.
Power Cruising - 9. I adore this game. It seems like it doesn't get much love around here but I find it to be extremely exciting and downright beautiful. Riding on gold-colored water underneath dripping gates is eye-poppingly amazing. It reminds me of the first time I played Super Mario Galaxy and how everything looked and played so incredibly, like nothing I've ever played before.
Canoeing - 7. Not sure what to rate this game. I found the single player to be a little lacking, but I could just have not been doing it right. When I played with my friend, we had a blast with the two-man canoe. So this score will probably go up with more time. Riding around that lake is super relaxing and the course can be hard. Lots of variety in these darn games.
Cycling - 9. Really, when I read all the reviews and IGN (all three of 'em) thrashed this mode, I thought it would be terrible. But it is SUPER fun. I LOVE LOVE the long courses with the very strategic method of waiting and then gunning it. The fact that you can "coast" with the single speed bike is nicely accurate. The feeling of the gameplay is great, too. it's not difficult but there's subtle complexity, perfect Nintendo.
Air Sports - 8. I think the dogfight is not as fun as it could be, but the Island Flyover really is the sleeper success of WSR. it is fun and relaxing and it's nice to sit down and enjoy a nice long game after a dozen quick 6-point Table Tennis matches.
As you can see, I love Wii Sports Resort. I think it is damn near perfect and the scope of it is tremendous. All those people on IGN boards complaining about their Wii gathering dust obviously don't have this game. Their loss. Our gain.
