Hey, does anybody know if Nintendo is going to try another PS1 remake, or was Klonoa just a random side project? I don't know a whole lot about licensing issues or whatever, but I just thought that since Klonoa went over fairly well, maybe they'd try other remakes... anyone heard anything? I'm thinking specifically Spyro or Crash, since Nintendo has been making their games lately anyways, and the originals on PS were the best ones.
Ah, I see. So in other words, don't hold my breath. I guess it's asking a little too much to have all my favourite games ever made playable on one console (tracking down a used PS in good working condition really sucked though). I'm all for the Final Fantasy games as well, and also Chrono Cross.
... I thought maybe, just maybe, there'd be hope for Spyro and Crash, since Nintendo picked them up anyways...
@Sean Aaron: From what i've read, opinions on those games have been... mixed. I kinda wish they'd rerelease those first few games, so I can see why they're so hyped sometimes. :3
They're incredible. I always felt like having a bowl of rice and watching Yojimbo after playing...getting a similar feeling with Muramasa, but it's more fantastical so it's not as strong. Wii Sports Resorts swordfighting modes give me a similar feel, but it's also not quite the same (I like being able to do samurai poses though!).
The PS1 Spyro and Crash games were excellent and have never been bettered by the later consoles. I'm not sure I'd like to see a Klonoa style re-make of them though. I have both Ctash games on the Wii and I must say I quite like them even though they are ultra generic. They serve my family and I for a decent laugh
The only ones that come to mind are games like Rayman 2, Wipeout 3 and Monster Rancher 2 , Soul Blade (all with graphical updates please and wii motion controls where appropriate). I'd like to see these PS1 games "ported" to the Wii.
I have always thought that Point Blank would be excellent on the Wii with the Wiimote, and it would fit in well with the Wii's audience with it being accesable to both younger and older gamers. I know it is probably better known for being a arcade game but the PS1 version was just as good.
Bushido blade is a good choice if they could incorparate Motion Controls well, the first few Crash Bandicoot games were pretty good, although I think most of the hype at the time was because it was the first time people had seen a 3D(ish) platformer.
I just bought a PS3 a couple of months ago and was delighted to discover that it plays my PS1 games straight from the original discs. You can even create virtual PS1 memory cards on the PS3 hard drive. PS2 games don't work though (baffling). As far as the Wii's game conversions are concerned, I'm still waiting for Duck Hunt on Virtual Console utilising the Wiimote as a gun.
I know Battle Arena Toshinden is being made for the Wii. But from what I read it doesn't seem to resemble the PSOne game at all (which was a fun game). Hoping this one would turn out well for us Wii owners.

The PS2 support was taken out to cut cost on production, but the PSOne was left as it didn't cost Sony next to nothing to have that in there.

With Rayman 2, couldn't you just get Rayman DS? It's the same thing. Anyway, I think FF VII is a great idea, but doesn't Square have a deal with Sony for that kinda thing?
