Topic: Pokemon Rumble not compatible with GameCube Controller?

If you download this game it says that you can play this game with a GC Controller, when you read the manual for this game it's saying the same thing, and on the Pokemon Rumble page on this site it's also saying that it is possible.

I've played the game this afternoon and I'm pretty sure that you cannot play this game with a GC Controller. I'd like to be proven wrong, though...Anyone else here who tried it?

Even if it's true, it only matters if you need GameCube controllers for extra players on multiplayer. The Wiimote by itself works just fine.

Ash: Professor Oak, how's your Bulbasaur?
Prof. Oak: Oh, it only hurts when I sit.
...
Prof. Oak: It's only Chansey if Krabby won't let go. Bye, now.
Ash: I don't think I'm going to call him anymore.

It worked, thank you=) I didn't know that I had to turn off my WIiMote to make it work.

This question may sound a bit dumb and is not fully on topic, but how can you turn off the Wiimote other than by waiting (or turning the console off)?

Pop out the batteries.

Thanks a lot. I would have never figured this out.

But seriously, isn't there a way that's not battery consuming or completely idiotic?

Besides waiting for it to idle out or taking out the batteries, you can go to the Home Menu and hit Reconnect. This is useful for turning off additional controllers, but not useful for this situation (if you're wanting to use the Gamecube controller for single play anyway).

So your choices are battery consuming or completely idiotic. That's what Nintendo has given you.

Thanks a lot ReZon, for clearing this up.
So that's our Nintendo. At least the Wiimote turns off when you start a Gamecube game.

What's ironic is they released a game designed to promote the rumble pak without using the rumble itself.

Strangely, when I was playing with a Wiimote and activated multiplayer, it automatically put the GameCube controller I had plugged in as the first player's slot (if someone had wanted to join with it), pushed the Wiimote I was using to the second slot, and listed my other Wiimote in the third slot.

Seems like Gamecube controllers have priority if accepted by the game. It's the same with Brawl.

Then why didn't it do that for Apocalypse?
