Apparently this is officially from Nintendo that only a limited amount of retailers will carry the Wii speak. However if it proves popular enough they will bring it back.
Heck I thought that was already the case. I bought mine at HMV after they slashed the price in a bid to unload all of them.
I've sold it on and I'm not looking back. The Headbanger is tethered, but I'm not that far from my TV and it'll be nice not having to deal with the calibration/positioning issues and having to raise my voice/tolerate echoing to be heard.
I used it for the Conduit and (less successfully) for Uno. The main hassle I found was the set-up. Either the mic was too sensitive or not sensitive enough. I had wanted it on top of the TV, but it refused to calibrate so it had to go on the cabinet at the front before it would work. I like the idea of a non-headset option, but practically speaking you have feedback and placement issues that make it less practical.
@Z.Bone the headbanger headset had really good reviews. The PC compatibility made it a huge plus for me, because the quality of the voice in PC is really good! If you want to check it out on youtube. Search it up. The voice quality is surprisingly good!
