"We haven't committed to Zelda for 2010," says NOA boss
The next Legend of Zelda game for Wii might not make it to the shops in 2010, Nintendo of America boss, Reggie Fils-Aime has warned.

"We haven't committed to Zelda for 2010... so we'll see how that continues to develop," Fils-Aime told GameTrailers TV.

Whether it makes it or not though, Fils-Aime is still very excited about Nintendo's prospects for 2010: "In terms of the three we highlighted during E3, Sin and Punishment 2 is going to be something that the Nintendo fan can get really excited about," he said.

"Galaxy 2... what can you say? Mr. Miyamoto himself is very excited about it. He thinks that it adds even more to that great title. And then Other M... that is another franchise that I've personally got great memories of, back to a side-scrolling Metroid title."

Were you actually expecting a Zelda game to be released within the same year the first footage of it is seen?

I think we'll be lucky if we get it Q2 2011.

How is this news? After all the delays Twilight Princess suffered, and Nintendo's concentration on quality before quick release in general, it would stupid to assume the game was definitely releasing in 2010!

Yeah, I'm expecting it around July-August 2011 personally.

And I'm one of the rare people who isn't excited for Sin and Punishment 2. I couldn't get past the stupid meteor in the first one, and as far as I can tell, it's not from lack of trying, I blasted the crap out of that thing from start to finish and it still blew up in my face.

The hands on play-tests of S&P 2 suggest its even more fiendish than S&P 1. Hardcore as hardcore can get. I need a revw personally.

Not surprised. Games like Zelda and Super Mario 3D take a long time to make and polish. You can't rush. If you do, it's sure to be worse than expected.

@LEGEND MARIOID: Yeah, but my point was, they should've seen it coming. It's one of those "non-news" moments when somebody treats some info as news, but the majority of people already took the info for granted.

I don't give a crap about S&P2. I didn't like the first one on VC, after all...why would I like the sequel? Still...even just Galaxy 2 and Other M could make it a pretty great year. And they can fill in a gap somewhere in the year by finally giving us NPC Pikmin 2! Not that they WILL, but they damn well SHOULD.

I knew it wasn't coming next year. Some people didn't believe me though.

I had no expectation for it to come out next year. After how long it took for Twilight Princess to come out I wouldn't be surprised if it comes out 2012. Besides, this next Zelda game is really important--if it uses the WiiMotion+ correctly it could really change the way we think about action/adventure games. I want Nintendo to take all the time they need to get it perfect.

And besides, I'll have Super Mario Galaxy 2, Metroid Other M, and Sin and Punishment 2 to hold me off (good god that's going to be a good year!)

That's okay, I'm happy with Twilight Princess in the meantime...it's so much fun and so replayable and...I'm sorry, I can't finish this sentence with a straight face.
