while shopping around in a walmart i spotted this sensor bar. let me just say it was cheap because not only is it wireless but it is huge! and best of all it runs of batterys so if you got some rechargables lieing around i would reccomend anyone who plays there wii alot to buy this and why should you buy this? Well #1 it has a way to change from a wide range to standard range which means before with the regular sensor bar you had to be closer to the TV not with this one your play area is Extended even more out and its very easy just switching to different ranges just slide the slider to which ever position you want it eithier on wide range or standard as well as a automatic battery life saver feature when your not using your sensor bar it has a battery life saving feature just press the button and it automatically turns off. All and all for $15 its a steal. plus its approved by Nintendo has their seal of approval on it so if you need a good sensor bar try out the A Power Branded Wii Ultra Sensor Bar.

Tails

How's the range, Tails? I've used 3 different sensor bars (OEM, Nyko, Pelican) and haven't had one demolish the others in this department. Curious about this one.

just out of curiosity does anyone know if this or any other sensor bar works well with a much larger Wii image? I use a 65 in tv and the ir pointer sometimes is a little choppy until you get pretty far away. Is there a better bar for larger tvs and do you think this one is it?

@Ren: to be honest I use A 26" TV its I Sony Bravia and I have no idea all I know is that atleast you don't have to hook anything up. just place it on your tv or near by it point and move and plus like I said has A battery saver feature, But you'd have to go and buy one for yourself. I know that this thing has to be almost as big as my tv screen laying down the sensor itself is huge as I said. But all and all its A great product just make sure you have plenty of Batterys or use rechargable batterys like me I use Rayovac and A 8 pack only costed me $10.00. If your close by A Wal-mart try there they should have them by the Wii- accessories.

Did you know that the sensor bar ain't a sensor but an emissor? The sensor is actually on the Wiimote .
This new "sensor" bar must just have bigger or/and brighter infrared LEDs, with a little help I could make one myself (good idea for an electronics project ). But my room is small, so the regular bar works perfectly for me thank you.

Well to be honest I think its WAY better then the Nintendo sensor bar by far because again you can use the wide range mode to extend your play area. The Original sensor bar I think went up to about 4 FT this i believe has to be atleast doubled or more cause i'm sitting right now in my living room on my couch pointing at my tv with my remote and my tvs A good 10 12 FT away and plus this is also as I said A Nintendo approved product if J-Man was on he could probably show yall the picture I showed him on Wii Speak. but yeah so far I love it i just gotta make sure to have my batterys completely charged all up xD

Well as i said this has it so you can extend the area of your playing field so if you want it like the original Wii sensor has it. Move on to standard if your in a small room And if you want it in A Large room use the Wide Range It's just A simple slide that you move. Plus about $15 for a sensor bar that has Nintendos Seal on it that's very good deal you have to admit. EDIT: I just checked the reciept and it was $16.19 all together but they should be selling for about 14.96 at walmart if anyone is near one.

Eh, No, the first sensor bar was free, and believe me the thing is easy to make, I'd say they're making a lot of easy money with it. But it's cool if you really need it , I can't think of any place in my house I'd need to use the wide range .

What I meant is that is not a good deal if you don't need a wide range, because the first bar works fine and was free, but if you needed it, well, is not like anybody would make one, so why not , but I still believe they should sell it for $10 at most, but thats just my opinion.

true but if you have one busted and need to get a new one they cost i believe like $15 on Nintendo's online parts store but thats if your not careful with them which some people now a days when they remove the stuff well they yank the cords out and everything so roughly. i'm like god easy x.x;

These should be good if you need a new one but I don't much of a point in having a wireless sensor bar. The original isn't any real big wire so to me wireless isn't exactly a big feature especially since you got to use 4 AA batteries. Sure you could use rechargeables but i'd rather have rechargeables for other things.

I hated the wireless sensor bar I had. It would barely pick up my remote and even when it did, the pointer would just not stay in one spot - it kept jumping about regardless of what I did to make it better.

The day I got a replacement wired bar was indeed a good day. The only drawback is that sometimes the wire can get worn/chewed.

I'm throwing my money at the screen but nothing happens!

Agreed but my sensor bar that came with my wii has well been chewed up by my dog a little and thats kinda why i found that one for sale for $15 i have tons of rechargable batterys around my house so its nothing for me to worry bout but i eithier had to wait for Nintendo to send me one which would be like $20 or i could buy one from a company that has Nintendos Approval on it and get my wii back on again. As everyone knows i have nothing else i only have a Wii x.x no computer

Our original Sensor Bar had the wire chewed up by a cat so we had to get a new one. We ended up with the Ultra because of the NO WIRES feature. My point however, is during the time without a working sensor bar, we used tea candles placed on top of the TV spaced about the same width as a bar, and it worked great! No lie. Saw it on YouTube and tried for myself. Keep it in mind if you're in a pinch.
