I prefer the Wii one over DS.

Which is better?

The wii one is much better: The story is more fun and exciting, they brought back some of my favorite Nintendo villians, and its much much harder.

The DS version because of the portability and the fact that it really just felt right to have a 2D Mario game on the DS.

The DS version is essentially Mario Jr. It was fun to play through a couple times, but it's ultimately so easy that it's embarrassing to be associated with it in comparison with the far greater Mario games on consoles.

Wii because it was more of a challenge compared to DS but I wished they would have never gotten rid of mega mushroom

I enjoyed both....but I'd chose the Wii version.

Wii. It wasn't laughably easy. And some of the levels were absolutely fantastic. It's just a much more fun game.

Uh, how can you like the DS one but say the Wii game was short and easy, JumpMad? The Wii one has more and longer levels, and just about everyone recognizes it as the harder of the two.

I agree with the Mario Jr. assessment, but I still love it. It comes with me any time my DS does on long trips, and it's still a lot of fun to play through. In fact, I don't think I've managed to find all of the gold coins yet...even though that's one thing I did manage on the Wii, despite the Wii version being, overall, much more challenging. Need to get up to that...

But yes, in my opinion, they are both very much worth having.
