Yes that was the Mecha Dedede in the trailer. It also shows up in one of the Mass Attack Subgames. The first game to feature a Mecha Dedede was I think Dream Course.
It's a bit on the easy side and I'm not all that fond of the gameplay. Sucking up enemies and taking power is cool and all, but it feels like more of a hassle than enjoyment for me. And I pretty much always feel as if I get overpowered when I get a power I'm good with.
I bet it'll be a great and fun game. But not for me.
Looking forward to: No More Heroes: Travis Strikes Again

I've had fun with Kirby in the past, but I have a hard time getting excited over his new games. I always feel like I'm playing an extension of the previous game, rather than a sequel. My memories of individual games are so similar that they blend together, and sometimes I even forget which game is which.
That's probably why I remember Canvas Curse as an absolutely brilliant game. Anyway, I'll be ecstatic when Kirby gets a 3D platformer. I probably won't get this, though.

Totally agree here. Canvas Curse is one of the best Kirby games ever. Mainly because it's not like every other Kirby game, like you're saying. Loved that one.
High five

Doesn't Skyward Sword looks to be on the easy side too? We can always do a self-imposed challenge run if this new Kirby game is too easy, and, it might come with an Extra mode. Can't go wrong with multiplayer either.
The best part of any Kirby game is the music. The platforming is too simplistic, the characters are too cute (in a bad Hello Kitty kind of way), and the challenge is usually dumbed down.
Sakurai designed Kirby as a game for beginners and children. The tone of the games reflect that. Not hating, just stating the truth.
So what are all the abilities so far? Are all of them returning from Superstar? And any other new ones revealed? (I know about Water, Grass, Spear, and Whip...and the Super ones as well)
I played the game for about an hour last night. Now I'm more excited than ever to play through it for the review. Gonna finish up Cave Story 3D and Furry Legends and then I'll get on it.
I know all the abilities. There's only 20, with a bit more being one use. 5 Super Abilities. The ones that DIDN'T make it from Super Star are Cook, Paint, Mirror, Wheel, Suplex, Jet and Yo-Yo.
Don't forget my question Corbs! If Fighter has a spinning kick. Or if Tornado and Hi-Jump can do more then one abbility.
But Spark is. But let me tell you the kicker. They basically combined Spark and Plasma into one. If you hold B, you will do the electrical force field around you, and if you press down B you will make a lightning bolt like Pikachu's Thunder in Smash. If you shake the D-Pad it behaves the same as Plasma where you have 3 levels of static energy you can fire. Shot, Beam and Sphere. While being in level 3 you get the same aura shield as Super Star that damages enemies as you walk as long as you don't fire it.
Btw there may be less abilities them some games but the ones here are really fleshed out. A lot of useless ones tossed, or ones that would be hard to work in multilayer (Wheel). or were simply too similar to each other. (Such as Jet, because Hi-Jump is now chargeable). Even Stone and Needle have a couple small tricks.
Though what I am not sure about is Tornado and Hi-Jump. Which is what I wanted Corbs to find out for me if they are fleshed out as well. But all the abilities in this game have been fine tuned from previous games. Such as Sword having the best moves from Super Star and Amazing Mirror.
This game combined elements from Super Star (fleshed out abilities) Kirby's Adventure (design), and Kirby 64 (collection). Maybe a couple things also from the Dreamland series including enemies and music.
