I Have beaten every cup up to Special 150cc, with one star. I am wondering how do you achieve 1-3 stars?

Currently playing: Mario Tennis! Also playing, Super Smash Bros. Brawl and F-Zero X.

You achieve more than one star by placing first in each cup on the track, with good enough times.

At least I think so.

Although I'm not sure exactly how good the times on each track have to be.

All you need to get dry bowser is a 1 star ranking on all 150cc cups. I don't think you actually need any better than a 1 star ranking for any of the unlockables. The stars do however show up beside your name when you play online, so that everyone knows you are a Mario Kart Wii bad ass!

Variables such as your place at the end of each lap, the amount of times you fall off the edge, and I heard even how often you get hit by blue shells affects your star rating. You could get first every race, but if you fell off 10 times, there's no chance of getting a star.

Edit: And, of course, get good times too.

I'm not sure, though everyone seems to have their own opinion. Some say you have to be absolutely perfect and have a good time, but I've heard of someone going off course and still getting 2 stars. I've raced excellent races and still didn't get 3 stars, so I'm not sure what qualifies. I have gotten 3 stars on all but 1 or 2 races. I still don't know how I did it. ??? I guess the best thing you can do is race the best way you possibly can.
