@Manfred I usually do not get hyped for the games on the WiiWare service but I am hyped for this. The game looks great and like it would be a ton of fun! Any word on release ?

I'm really hyped for this. This is the new benchmark to all the lazy-ass developers porting iPhone games and not even beginning to make an effort to improve them.
@Manfred Good news from you about the expected release date, please come to the UK not on the 11th June though when SMG2 is released that would be too much.
I'm pretty much running out of superlatives for this one.
I do have another question for Manfred or anyone in the team though : Having the game run in 60 frames/sec is really nice, but how much do you need to restrain the graphics to manage that? That is, you could have more detail if it ran at 30 instead, but how big is the difference? I haven't done much 3D work at all (nothing especially advanced anyway) so I don't know how different things like all these effects affect fps. Perhaps you could add something about this in the next chapter of "The Making Of..."?
@Imerion: Hi, good idea to talk about that in the "Making of". Sometimes it was complicated and challenging to maintain rock solid 60fps all over the game, but we always like to tune and optimize our code, or replace algorithms until we get 60fps. We also like tight controls. 30fps make the controls a bit too sluggish for our taste. So whenever possible we aim for 60fps.
That's always good to hear, too many modern devs only shoot far 30 fps which makes games play and even look worse than last gen games running at 60 in my opinion. I noticed in the gameplay trailers that the enviornment backgrounds seem a bit barren, this disappointed me at first but if it was necessary to keep the framerate locked at 60 then it was well worth it!
@Manfred: Sounds great! I wish more developers thought like that. I once saw the words "Don't compromise, optimize!" somewhere on the net which is a nice way of thinking and I try my best to follow it. Anyway, looking forward to the next part of "Making of" or to an announcement of the release date!
