Topic: Is Earthworm Jim Really a Dude?

As most of you know, Earthworm Jim is supposed to be a male earthworm, but all earthworms are hermaphrodites! This means that even if an earthworm were to be mutated into a giant worm with human intelligence by an alien super suit, it still wouldn't be male (or female) and wouldn't be able to fall in love with a space alien princess like Jim does in the cartoon. Sure, the EWJ games are incredibly wacky and off-the-wall, but everything usually has some sort of semi-logical or sci-fi/fantasy explanation. Even Peter Puppy's origin is explained in one episode of the cartoon. Any thoughts on this gender bender?

Ash: Professor Oak, how's your Bulbasaur?
Prof. Oak: Oh, it only hurts when I sit.
...
Prof. Oak: It's only Chansey if Krabby won't let go. Bye, now.
Ash: I don't think I'm going to call him anymore.

Not really. I think the best explanation is that they dont want to introdice a hermaphodite hero to kids. There would be to much of an uproar and controversy. So then it becomes male or female. And the male super hero is much more popular than the female.

Just because it doesn't have a gender, doesn't mean it can't have a gender preference, or love.
