Would it be worth it to trade in all three original games toward the purchase of Metroid Prime Trilogy? I'm afraid it may not be worth it as Gamestop may only offer a few bucks for each individual game. Have anyone tried this or is anyone planning to do this when they pick up their game tomorrow (August 25)? Gamestop did put the idea in my head since in their text message, they said: "Your Metroid Prime Trilogy order avail Tue PM. Bring game trades to reduce price."

Amazon is offering $1.50 for Metroid Prime 2: Echoes and $8.50 for Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. I think this is an idea of the best we would get for these games because Amazon and GameCrazy give back more for your trade-ins. From my experiences, Gamestop has always given back less than both Amazon and GameCrazy. I'm leaning on not trading in the original Metroid Prime Gamecube discs.

Ouch dude. So glad I planned ahead and traded them for credit notes some time ago (i rock!), not that you wanted to hear that.
Trade Prim3 but get the best price you can, every little helps. But keep the cheap ones cos I hate giving up games for pennies. Give them to someone perhaps. I'm jealous you get to buy it tomorrow, I am in 'anticipation mode' and have over a week to wait. Eek!
Ha-ha-ha... that's a good one Adam; like Nintendo Power knows anything better LOL! I bet a Metroid Prime 4 is just a fake; or if it's not related to Metroid Other M?!
On subject: I personally got the 1st Metroid Prime for the GameCube cheap for $10 for what seems like a year ago; and yet I didn't play it for I got stuck early on in the game & never played it since then! When I heard about the New Play Control versions for the Wii; I knew my decision was to trade my Metroid Prime GameCube copy... & I don't regret that still! And these past few months; I've pre-ordered & gotten awesome games! Punch-Out Wii in May, Wii Sports Resort at the end of July; & I'm going to get Metroid Prime Trilogy tomarrow for the end of August! I've been pretty happy about that! Plus I've never fully played either of the Metroid Prime games; so my experience playing them all back to back will be super sweet once I get my Metroid Prime copy! Plus I'm still psyched for the bonus shirt & poster I'll probably get from GameStop!

I have Metroid Prime 1 & 2 on the GameCube but I've not got around to buying 3 yet. I think I'll just keep the GameCube games and buy Trilogy instead of 3. I'm not sure it's worth me selling the originals - I get the new game I was going to buy anyway plus new play control (and the convenience of a single disc) of the old games so I'm not losing anything.
If you play through all three games standing upside-down, you unlock Metroid Prime 4. I read it in Nintendo Power.
I read that too! Good ol' NP. Most reliable source for Nintendo stuff around. Anyway, I can't wait to find out what the ship following Samus's ship at the end of MP3 is, and why it's following her. I just hope my head doesn't hurt when I stop playing.
I've never played the Metroid Trilogy games as individual games, but the graphics updates and wiimote-aiming would be enough for me to buy the Trilogy.
The only thing from the original games that the trilogy is missing for me so far is the menus; I know that it's more efficient this way, but I was sad to launch straight into MP1 rather than getting to enjoy its menu and menu music all over again. That was one of the best opening screens in gaming history for me.

Wow, I just now realized that after reading your post. I'm kind of sad now.
At least I'll always have the original releases to remember them.

yeah. i couldn't tell you what you'd get. as soon as i hear this game was announced i sold both my gamecube primes to gamestop (and i never owned corruption). that was kinda the ideal time to do it. yusually they start offering more for related games once a new one is announced, and less and less as that game gets closer. sorry, man.
