Topic: Excitebots Wierd Item

I know this thread will probably be short-lived, but I wanted to share and ask if any of you have seen it before.

Last night, I finished "S-ranking" Gold cup in Excite mode and began Platinum cup. I started out with China, and began familiarizing myself with the new course. Anyway, during one race I went off the big jump (the one before the hand), chose the middle path, and grabbed the wrench. However, I lost control while running and veered right instead of left towards the hand. I ended up running through several trees and ended up on a thin path with an item I had never seen before.
The Item was a hollow red circle with what I believe to be an exclamation mark through the middle. On the item was written something like "PIN". The entire thing glower yellow and I grabbed it right before crashing.
I was put back on the main track and finished the race. In a later race, I went back and got the item again. This time, I was able to do so without crashing. When I used the item, my bot sparkled and made siren noises as I followed the path which merged with the main route. It was if I was temporarily invincible! I've checked the manual and searched online and have found no mention of this. Have any of you seen it before?

On a side note, I have over 30,000 lifetime stars. When will the other vehicles start appearing for purchase?

Sure it doesn't say POW? That's what they said in Excite Truck, anyway.

In Excite Truck this is POW-Item gives you a turbo boost and makes you invincible for a short time. It's not a rare item as there are multiple ones on each course.

Definitely the POW item, the siren sound gave it away. It's a little more rare in Bots but was very common in Trucks.

@all Thanks for answering my question regarding the item. It wasn't in the manual, and I hadn't seen it in the previous 19 tracks. As you can tell, I haven't played Excite Trucks, just Excitebots and Excitebike: World Rally.
I've only used this item once. Care to elaborate on what it does?

Also, does anyone know why I can't buy any of the second wave of vehicles?

It makes you invincible and gives you some extra speed. There is a spot in I think platinum Canada that I always use it.

Great, Platinum Canada is next on my list!
