Do you think think Super Mario Galaxy will wrap up as a trilogy on Wii? If not, do you think it will be on either the 3DS, or the Wii's sucessor? I always thought it was ripe for a trilogy since Super Mario Galaxy 2 was announced.
@Link-Hero I agree. Sure, I enjoyed both 1 and 2, but 3 is pushing it. I don't think it will be a Wii game, because I don't think it will exist at all.
I think Galaxy is done for a long, long time. Maybe a console or two from now it will get a reprise, kind of in a NSMBW way, but now it's time for something different.

I think even Galaxy 2 was already going too far. Like 64 and Sunshine before it, just 1 in the particular series was and should've been enough. Come up with another new idea...
Then make it Bigger, Add a Deeper Story. And Give a Better reason, why Mario has to go back in Space.

Galaxy 2 lost all the charm of Galaxy 1 so NO. Sure, it was improved, but it just had something about Mario missing, which I think was Mario's natural charming atmosphere. Make something new...
As said, they shouldn't because it would be milking the concept. Galaxy 2 is still my favorite game of all time, and Galaxy was fantastic as well, but I just think they need to change it up.

might as well for wii or 3DS at the most, not like there could be any other new interesting ideas unless u mix everything up from every game which each interesting gameplay aspect taken from each combine into one
I don't think it'll be a game, period. But if it was, I think we're going to see the next Nintendo console sooner rather than later, and that being the case I think Nintendo would save it as a showcase for their next console.

No, there shouldn't be any more SMG games. Sure, the 1st was great and the 2nd game was awesome, but a 3rd game would be just milking the concept, especially since Nintendo announced that they finished of what they wanted to do in SMG2. They need to go and make something else, like bring Mario back somewhere on his world, or something like that.
That's what I though. SMG2 was almost like a special exception. Had there been something like Super Mario Sunshine 2, or even Twilight Princess 2, then that would be going too far. It'd be interesting to see where Nintendo takes Mario next.
Galaxy 2 is an all time great and is generally regarded as so across the board - even by strict, wii disliking reviewers. Let's get that out of the way first.
Galaxy 3 would be more than welcome as much as SMBros 3 was (yes I understand the uniqueness of it, but still).
