Ummm....didn't they already say no to it? I believe they've even given a reason already why it won't...
Anyways, i don't think it will or needs it. I would never go online with the game due to the amount of jerks out there who would either bolt ahead or lag behind just to be a jerk. Plus, it's a game that you should play with your friends in the room with you. I can't come up with 1 single positive reason why to include online into a game like this.
I also heard some of the users on YouTube. for an example, the one that said "Not buying it. Unless it has online". And someone thumbed it down. So that means it won't have Online.

online play is overrated. online gaming is worse than casual gaming. i enjoyed video games for 15 years before online play became this new "standard". no smb game has EVER had online play, and they were all perfectly fun without it.

Ditto. Just because it exists doesn't mean any particular game or series has an obligation to even consider online play. It's an entirely different type of gaming as far as I'm concerned, like demanding that all movies start offering 3D, whether it suits them or not.

I'm glad there's not. With my online experience, having to constantly update with Nintendo's servers might lag the game too much. Just look at Smash Bros when one of the player's internet is slow

I heard it is a long game. Lots of levels but I heard Nintendo say the same thing about resources but my guess is that response was the dumb political nonoffensive excuse they came up with instead of saying, "Hey idiots, this is a platformer not a FPS or MMORPG, get over your love of online already. Not every game needs it."
It's already confirmed that it won't have online. Frankly, I'm not sad about it. This kind of game needs to be local multiplayer only. It's one of those games that's more enjoyable if you can see your partner face to face and trash talk and stuff. But then again I've always preferred local to online multiplayer.

it doesn't need it who ever heard of a online New Super Mario Bros Game? it just doesn't sound right i can understand like smash bros and mario strikers or maybe even mario kart wii but not a old platform like Mario Bros no way...:/
