Topic: WiiU games still worth a purchase

I have my wiiU since launch but never used it that much and I don’t have a lot of wiiU games, but I still want to buy some games that are worth it and need help with that...

I currently own:
Assassins creed 3
AC 4 black flag
Batman arkham origins
Batman arkham city
Bayonetta 1
Disney infinity 1.0
Just dance 4
Just dance 2014
Lego batman 2
Lego city undercover
Lego marvel superheroes
Monster hunter 3
Paper mario colour splash
Sonic all stars racing transformed
Super smash bros for wiiU
Tekken tag tournament 2
Splinter cell blacklist
ZombiU

Note that all the multiplat games where bought when I was a nintendo only guy, I now own a ps1 to 4 and switch too...

Any games I should definitilly add to my wiiU collection?
Games I still want are bayonetta 2, tokyo mirage sessions #FE, wonderfull 101, yoshi’s wooly world, kirby and the rainbow curse, mario maker, NES remix and NES remix 2.

Also a question about tokyo mirage sessions #FE. I heard the dub, localisation and cencorship/changes are abysmal, but it plays like persona. Is it worth the purchase to a persona fan? Note that I can easily dive into franchises I don’t know (fire emblem) if I like the gameplay. (I can get TMS#FE at one store for €20 which seems cheap as all other options are still around €60)

Also please only recommend games that got a physical release in the PAL region/europe.

Bayonetta 2, totally. And Xenoblade Chronicles X. Super Mario 3D World was pretty good too.

@darkswabber Well, I haven't got as many games as you, but besides the ones you already own, I would add these:
(quite a few of these titles also have Wii U-specific controls, making them unique, even if they are multi-platform titles, which for me is always a good enough reason to still consider buying them)

Pikmin 3
NintendoLand - a good showcase of what the Wii U can do. A shame it never reached its full potential
Need for Speed Most Wanted U - great port and better looking than the Xbox 360/PS3 version
Star Fox Zero - Maybe not great, but still a good game, regardless of what is said about it.
Star Fox Guard
Super Mario 3D World
FAST Racing NEO - if you haven't got this on the Switch, certainly worth a purchase for sci-fi racing fans
Art Academy - great game to chill and relax on a couch with your GamePad
Devil's Third - clunky in places, and a mixed bag graphics-wise, but somehow still a lot of fun
Darksiders Warmastered Edition
Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge

Your own wanted list sounds pretty good as well. I'd also get most of these titles myself.
Don't know about Tokyo Mirage Sessions though, but I've personally only heard good things about it, so it's still on my to-buy list as well. And for €20 it seems like a pretty good deal to me.

@darkswabber Forgot to mention, that I often use this site, to see where I can get stuff for the best prices:
https://www.budgetgaming.nl/
And NedGame has a lot of discounts almost every month, so worth keeping an eye on as well. I've actually bought most of my Wii U games from them.

@ThanosReXXX thanks, I usually get my vita games from nedgame. Gamemania has 1 copy of tokyo mirage sessions left and I’m planning to call them tomorrow so they’ll send it to a gamemania near me along with marvel vs capcom 3 for psvita.

Star fox guard is a download code in a box right? And I didn’t know NFS most wanted released on wiiU, although I might go with the psvita version over the wiiU version.

@darkswabber Yes, Star Fox Guard is digital only, unless you buy the special edition of Star Fox Zero, then it comes on a second disc. But that box is hard to come by, and ridiculously expensive, so not worth the trouble.

As for NFS Most Wanted U: why take a lesser version? The Vita version is the worst looking of all of them, and the Wii U version has some unique GamePad functionalities. AND it's the only version that used the uncompressed, high resolution PC textures, which were considerably downgraded/compressed on the Xbox 360 and PS3.

Some argue about the lack of analog triggers, but because it's an arcade racer, it's not really noticeable when you're playing, and it's a good game that deserves to be played.

@ThanosReXXX maybe I have luck with a physical starfox guard one day.

As for my NFSMW for psvita? It’s my favorite console and I want a complete collection. But I can always double dip if I find it for cheap.

@darkswabber The only way you're going to get a physical version, is if someone is going to sell the discs of his/her special version separately, or if you happen to stumble upon a cheap version of the special edition, neither of which I firmly believe is ever going to happen.

I'm a physical collector myself, so I'm with you on rather having games on discs, but if they aren't available on disc, well...

And it does come in it's own dvd box, so it'll still look physical sitting in between the rest of your games...

Fair enough on wanting a complete PSVita collection, so I'll get off of your back on that one.

@darkswabber
Super Mario Maker for sure. Fantastic game.

Nice >:]

Or don't, it's your time after all.

@ThanosReXXX I wasn't aware of the graphical asset differences for Most Wanted, thanks!! I've enjoyed the newer NFS, so I may have a hunt a copy down on the cheap. I'm also surprised it's hard to find a SFZero box over there with Guard in it. I managed to snag one that had a New-to-Used SKU conversion at a Gamestop this year, paid $10

@JackEatsSparrows Really? Wow, that's bloody cheap. Last time I checked, boxes over here were well over 100 euros.

And yeah, that graphical difference is really a thing. A lot of people don't seem to remember, but back then, the developers even went out of their way to make that clear. There's several interviews with them in which they express their surprise/amazement at being able to use those uncompressed textures on the Wii U version. Apparently they, or EA, didn't think too much of the hardware, initially...

As for getting it for cheap and brand new, here you go:

EDIT:
Pretty good Metacritic scores too:

Couldn't find one of those interviews I mentioned, but here's a rundown of it all from the guys at EuroGamer/Digital Foundry, and they know their stuff:

I second NFS: Most Wanted. It's honestly one of my favorite racing games period and it runs great on switch.

I also recommend NFS Most Wanted, but I'd consider getting it on PS3/X360 if possible since I think they got all the DLC while the Wii U version I think only got the first pack. Content is more important than graphics to me at least.
