Ugh. That is unfortunate. I will not be transferring then. I still use the Wii in my game room and the Wii U in the living room. I wish Nintendo had a cross buy like Sony. Thanks guys.
It's annoying but slightly (and I mean ever so so slightly) understandable as you could copy all, then sell your Wii with a load of games this "denying" more "potential" eShop sales. Or some other threadbare reason like that.
My biggest annoyance is that a system transfer moves everything. I wanted to move my VC games to my Wii U but leave all my Wii save data on the Wii. I know I could transfer save files to an SD card then slowly transfer them back (have to run each game first though) but a select few save files actually can't be copied.
@NESlover85 Why would you want to continue playing your Wii when everything the Wii does (except for playing Gamecube discs) can be done on the Wii U. You can still access your downloaded WiiWare games on Wii U, you just have to go into Wii mode. Except for having to pay a penalty tax for having downloaded them on Wii first, there are a lot of benefits of having Virtual Console games on Wii U.
