Well I trust Game Informer more than IGN for sure, and it was reviewed by their resident survivor horror fan.
I think it's a believable review, and if most of them are giving poor to mediocre review than obviously the game most likely has some flaws worth mentioning.
Btw they gave it a 5.
You know, to understand how a reviewer thinks and acts, it helps to listen to them in a podcast or any videos they host really. Like Gameinformer's Replay show is amazing, and you really get a feel for what the reviewers are like and what they enjoy and how they see things. I think that's one of the first steps to trusting (or NOT trusting) a reviewer, other than looking at a score and scoff at it and say the reviewer sucks eggs and hates Nintendo, etc.
Of course I still think anyone should pick up the game if they were interested in it to begin with, but if you haven't played it and if there's a demo somewhere than try that first before you agree with the reviews or not.
You're kidding right? This is how bad it's gotten? Read reviews. Scores mean nothing. If you want to know why a reviewer thinks a game is good or bad try actually reading their opinions and analysis of the game.
The things they complain about are the things I will enjoy about the game except for the melee combat but that's no reason to hate the game . I haven't played it yet but I know from watching gameplay that I will love this game
He also complained about the gamepad touch/screen elements in Batman....Figures.
I have yet to see someone actually like the touch elements in Batman. They could've just been superflous, but because you have to use them, they take away from the game. Have you played Arkham City? I have, and the "additions" that have been made to the game sound like they'd dramatically slow the excellent pace of the game. If WB just offered a way to play with a regular controller, then it'd be fine, but no, it's a launch title, and it has to use every aspect of the gamepad.

Still, there should always be some objectivity to reviews.
I can understand a 7 versus an 8 or even a 7 vs a 9.
But a 45% compared to 97%?
Not sure what to make of that.
It's probably a love it or hate it game. Kinda like Kid Icarus: Uprising, where some reviewers liked the controls and others hated it.
My SD Card with the game on it is just as physical as your cartridge with the game on it.
I love Nintendo, that's why I criticize them so harshly.
I wanna see how NG3 does, I'm thinking of that one, but IDK

Ninja Gaiden III: Razor's Edge was reviewed days ago. It got a 7.6 on IGN (more than double the initial PS3/Xbox 360 scores), and a more critical 5.5 on Destructoid.
^great then I'll at least get it at some point then not at all

From what I've heard, ZombiU is basically a straight-up old-school survival horror game; the combat is slow, going up against more than two enemies at a time is suicide, and one hit kills you. Depending on who you talk to, those are under-appreciated mechanics or old and annoying designer tricks to artificially ramp up difficulty.

A good vid of the game, really makes me want to play it . Looks like it could be pretty scary playing alone at night
which is something that has been missing from a lot of horror zombie games lately

Considering a few of my favourite games have pretty mixed reviews, that's not going to stop me from buying it and giving it a shot (when the Wii U launches here).
Worst case scenario is that I really don't like the game and I have a week to return it for a full refund... but I doubt that'll be happening.
I generally do not care for reviews, because I can review games myself. However, if every website gives the game a 3, then we all know its a crappy game.
