Topic: What good games are still coming for Wii U? What *could* come?

Off the top of my head, I can think of: Zelda, Shantae, Paper Mario, and Yooka-Laylee. Is there anything obvious I've forgotten?

Are there any good japan-only games that could get a surprise localisation and release anytime soon? Are there any quality indies that you're looking forward to that I haven't mentioned?

I don't own a WiiU so the only thing I can add is Darksiders.

I can't think of to many Japanese only wiiu retail releases. Yakuza 1 & 2 hd is one but sega will definitely not bring that west on the wiiu. I think bandi released a few drum master games on the wiiu. I also highly doubt those are coming over.

Paper Mario Color Splash
Shantae Half Genie Hero
Darksiders Warmastered Edition
Zelda Breath of the Wild
Yooka Laylee

That's all the worthwhile games I can think of that would get a physical release. There'll be LEGO games for sure, Skylanders, that type stuff. But really aside from those listed above, the eShop will be where it's at. Games like Axiom Verge, Earthlock Festival of Magic, Severed, etc...

Well Zelda, Yooka Laylee and Bloodstained are coming and seem like games I will like more than nearly anything else. Those along with Ackk Studios' games makes for 5 games I want just off the top of my head.

Darksiders is a legitimately good game if you want it.

I almost forgot puyo puyo Tetris. Now that Ubisoft has the American license for Tetris sega couldn't bring it here if they wanted to. I also left out the two mmo's for the system. No way we will see those.

Yeah, a lot of Indie and Small-dev stuff are on its way. I can't think of anything primarily retail-oriented, though, aside from the 3 obvious subjects (PM, Darksiders, and Zelda).

It'd be great if Freedom Planet received a physical release.

I'm still expecting Nintendo to release one last Cube remake in time for Xmas, either Sunshine, Mansion or even Skyward Sword.

Skyward Sword will get a Wii U VC release, that's pretty much certain by now. They'll save the remake for the NX when they need some release filler.

Bizerta: Silent Evil (TBD) and I dont know when it will come out but hopefully around Halloween time. It was originally developed for PS Vita and PS Mobile but now its being made for the Wii U.

I see what you did there, dev! I'm sure this level of cleverness will be prevelant throughout their entire game.

@SKTTR Was A Hat in Time ever confirmed for Wii U? Currently they're only working on the PC version; I wouldn't count on it. The same is true for Little Devil Inside; Currently planned for a release in 2018 and the game has been moved over to UE4. It's unfortunate, but don't count on a Wii U version.

Is Xeodrifter still coming for Europe? I kinda gave up after waiting for ages and I bought the game on PS4 instead.

@SKTTR Wow, thanks! There's a lot to look forward to there.

@SKTTR - Thanks man. Though I'll call bull**** on C-Wars, the dev went dark over 6 months ago, and the game they released on Steam was nowhere near what they pitched years ago. It's like they commision a ton art assets, stitched together top 5 most popular buzzwords that were going around Kickstarter at the time, and then just slapped together whatever they could afford in between their morning yacht races 1 month before the deadline.

And yeah, A Hat in Time never confirmed a console release, only that it would be nice to have if they could afford it some day.

Also, 90's Arcade Racer is being published by Nicalis, so you may as well consider that dead in the water. Everything they touch turns to ash. Seriously, how many times do we have to learn that before people stop supporting them?

Soul Saga is a disaster waiting to happen.

Between Heartbeats literally just launched its Indiegogo campaign, and I see no mention of the Wii U at all. At the very least, I wouldn't jump the gun. It might not get funded at all.

Is Rusty Pup even still in active development? Not that I'd want to play it - it looks too morbid for my tastes...I'm just asking, since I don't see anything news about it that was less than 2 years old...it doesn't seem to have a dev blog or anything, either.

Same with the Wii U version of Blood of the Werewolf. That game apparently bombed, anyways.

I can barely find any info on Vegas Prime Retrograde. I wouldn't mind seeing a link to where you saw it was...officially in development, especially one that mentions the Wii U specifically, if you can.

Oliver & Spike looks like its vaporware. Even their own website has been suspended...

I think I've picked out all the sour grapes, though. Now we just gotta wait for the rest of the batch to turn into sweet, sweet wine...

@CanisWolfred I don't think this is the dev.

They're never the dev, at most they're work on porting stuff, but even as a mere publisher, everything they've got in their repitoire was in development hell, only to release with game breaking bugs, often ones that took weeks to fix. Even VVVVVV had to be pulled from the eShop because of a major oversight that made their software hackable. They're incompetant at every turn, and Pelikan13 may as well have tossed their game in the fire by partnering with them.

@CanisWolfred I'm talking about the poster who mentioned silent evil. I'm pretty sure that's not the dev. The dev is from Spain with English as a second language and doesn't write this way.

...I knew that. I was just making a joke about how much its clearly trying to ape two popular survival horror products with as much subtlety as a Hong Kong bootleg chain. I'm not so rude as to tell off an indie developer like that to his face. At the very least, I'd be less harsh and judgmental about it if I knew it was really him. It wouldn't be constructive, and it'd make me look like a jerk. Not that I hold any ill-will towards the dev, I just think that joke is about the most amount of entertainment I'm going to get out of their product, albeit based purely on face-value.

Now, if it was a Nicalis representitive...
