So apparently, Smash DLC is at least $70 total. I imagine buying most of this is all Mii costumes with the few stages and characters. Pricey I think, but hey, who wanted DLC? We did. So pay up.

@DarthNocturnal It's the fact that they aren't as iconic as someone like Bomberman or Rayman. In case you're wondering, no, I'm not against the idea of someone like Shovel Knight getting in. I think he would be fun to play as. And in case anyone has a problem with me wanting an indie character, I don't care.

@Megumi: Smash is listed in the compatible games on the page for the Chibi-Robo amiibo. Chibi-Robo also fits the description of the character Stealth was talking about on Twitter that he said would be revealed "within the next two weeks". While most of us brushed it off or speculated that it would be Inkling or K Rool, Chibi-Robo does make sense as well.
Perhaps we're getting Chibi-Robo soon? Maybe Shovel Knight really is coming as well, and Liam's lead was correct.
On a side note, if they did just screw up and leak Chibi-Robo and Shovel Knight for Smash, I feel really bad for Sakurai.
Edit: Yacht Club Games just said the Shovel Knight amiibo listing was a mistake. Never said it was wrong though.
Even if they DID mean mistake as in wrong, it means nothing coming from them. I mean, if it actually is a mistake, they'll say it is, and if it isn't, they'll still say it is.

Chibi-Robo is joining the roster even though his 3DS game is boring and bland? I guess Smash is slowly becoming a safe haven for struggling IPs. What's next? Isaac from Golden Sun finally getting the recognition he deserves?
I don't mind whoever gets added at this point. Sakurai can really make any character good, so anyone may turn out much better than we thought they would be. I would be really happy if King K Rool gets added though.

So long as K. Rool makes it, I don't care who else does. They should add the top three of the Fighter Ballot, though other characters could just be decided outside of it.
It's funny that people complain that Shovel Knight is just from one game, yet there are already characters from one game like Dark Pit, Lucina, Robin, and before them, the Ice Climbers. Robin and Lucina went on to be in more games, so that criticism doesn't add up. I think Shovel Knight could have an interesting moveset, and even though he would have more in common with swordfighters, already a big class in the current Smash, he would still be different for wielding a shovel.
My main criticism of Shovel Knight in Smash Bros is that there has only been one Shovel Knight game, but there has been multiple Kid Icarus and Fire Emblem games. I'd much prefer a character from a series that has multiple games such as Shantae, Professor Layton or Rayman.
However, Shovel Knight could have a very interesting moveset, so I'll be fine with him in it once we see a reveal trailer.
