The Meta-Knight mask was shown way before Meta-Knight himself was confirmed in this game, so...yeah I'm with IceClimbers here.

Which one of these reasonings do you think is the reason for King K. Rool being a Mii Brawler costume?
A.) K. Rool scored very highly in the ballot, but Sakurai does not want him as a playable character in the game. So he idecides to add * him as a Mii Brawler costume instead.
B.) K Rool was in development, but it didn't work out, so he is instead a costume
C.) The K. Rool costume is just to hold us over until the real K. Rool DLC comes out.
D.) The K. Rool costume is just a cheap alternative for people who can't afford the upcoming real K. Rool DLC.
E.) Sakurai is skeptical about K. Rool being a playable character, so the K. Rool costume is just a test to see how well it will selll. If it sells well enough, he will add him in the game as a fighter.
F.) King K. Rool is actually playable, and this costume is just to troll us.
G.) King K. Rool is actually not playable, and this costume is just to troll us.
There was a supposed leak of a Dr Mario stage as well as Great Bay from Melee. However, the Great Bay leak was confirmed fake. The Dr Mario one on the other hand I think is legit until proven otherwise, as we know that there was files for an unfinished Dr Mario stage in the base game, as well as Hanenbow from Brawl.
Guys... the Smash Ballot started on April 1st. It's obviously a several month long April Fools joke and all Ballot winners are to be turned into Mii costumes
@IceClimbers I didn't know about the Great Bay leak, so I looked it up. Unlike that one, the Dr. Mario stage actually looks real. @NintyMan That is rather nice.
I think the costume is more of a good sign than a bad sign. It shows that they are acknowledging K Rool as a top voted ballot character. So the costume can just be to throw us off while Sakurai is just there laughing (I'm serious) at all those k rool supporters losing hope and k rool haters being happy. Can't wait for k rool to be revealed! Remember Sakurai is a troll

@Gridatttack: Aside from having full Link costumes, not to mention full Inkling costumes and hats for the majority of characters in game, the fact that Wolf isn't considered out of the running juat because Fox has a pallette swap of him and one of his moves and Lucas got in the games when Ness has a pallette swap of him and ALL of his moves means costumes mean nothing. As CapeSmash already pointed out, this could point to quite a few differemt scenarios. At the end of the day, K. Rool is STILL a popular choice and if he's high on the ballot when the ballot closes, there's a really good chance he'll be getting in the game.
@Gridatttack: Meta Knight breaks the trend. This isn't a full deconfirmation. After all, K Rool is known for playing dead. Until Sakurai says he's deconfirmed, he still has a chance.

The MK item is just a mask, same with the sheik one. They are just headpieces and they aren't as detailed as the ones they are releasing for the full costume set.

@Gridatttack: You're seeing a pattern where there isn't one. Just like people assumed a trophy of a character meant there would be no character and people assumed that a character appearing in the background meant there would be no character and people assumed a character's moves appearing in another character's customs set meant there would be no character and now you're assuming a costume of a character means there will be no character. It's not any less of a leap in logic now than it was the other times we made these assumptions. Even if it IS a legitimate trend, Sakurai is known for breaking trends. Seriously, how many times over the development cycle of this game did we make up a rule based on patterns appearing to exist that Sakurai then immediately knocked down with the next character reveal? How many characters did we assume would get cut due to patterns from Melee to Brawl that managed to return anyways? Patterns don't exist. Sakurai almost makes a conscious effort to crush patterns. If there's anything he hates, it's being predictable. The costumes. Mean. Nothing.

Recently found a glitch in All-star mode as Kirby. I don't know if it works with all characters, but I copied Shulk's ability before defeating him (which causes me to lose it if there are at least 3 other characters left) and then copied Lucina's. For some reason it made it look like Kirby was stabbing himself when thrusting it forward.
