Before I went to sleep yesterday, I came up with a new and unique map idea. It's basically a vertical map and it uses the propeller-platforms that we got to know in singleplayer and Ancho-V Games.
I had two different versions in mind, so I just drew two quick and raw sketches to illustrate my idea (and because my hands aren't used to using a pencil excessively anymore and start aching almost immediately^^), so don't mind the proportions and the crooked lines.
Maybe I'll do a cleaner digital version later.
I think I got the basics covered for the rank modes, but I'll still need to work out more horizontal ground for TW.
What do you think? Any ideas? I'd love to see a vertical map, because that's something the game doesn't have yet. I think after I've received some feedback and worked out everything, I'm gonna send it to Nintendo. Maybe they can make something out of it. Love to hear your thoughts and improvement suggestions.
Also am I the only one who finds the Soda Slosher feels a lot faster than the regular one? I dunno, it felt like it.. Maybe because it's a blue colour...
@Kazuo Yeah I'm used to charging longer now, but I'm gonna miss those times where I can splat 3 people in a row with little delay in-between each splat lol.
Oh of course! Hadn't thought about it explicitly, but with the Light Special Depletion weapons you now need less Special Saver to preserve 100%!
Before, you needed 3 main slots and 9 sub slots, but now you only need 3 main slots and 2 sub slots.
My GOTY? Legend Of Zelda: Splat of the child. Ah no, I meant LoZ: Breath of the SPLATOOOON!
@PikminFan22 I might be up for some. Although first I want to complete my current chapter in Fates since I want to finish it before the next DLC comes out.
@PikminFan22: For now I'll practice in TW with the Berry SSP, have to find out the best possible gear to cover the ink consumption of that set. Maybe I'll try SZ later, but honestly, I don't know if I'm up for squads with S/S+ players anymore unless I reach S myself (although I'm still opposing the fact that you don't lose/gain points in squads if you're S. If anything, all players on your team should be unaffected or this benefit should only go to S+ players) and will be unaffected by squadding.
The last time I squadded we had to fight mostly against S+ squads (I'm taling SSAA vs. 4x S+) and I went from A+ to A (and then to A- because I continued in random ranked in an angered state). I had just reached A+ and was doing great before (like between A+ 50-70), so I felt quite confident in our squad. And now I'm stuck in A- again.
It's really annoying because most players on this level don't behave very clever tactically and do a lot of simple mistakes. Playing ranked was much more fun/successful with A+ (or even A) players. And it's stange for me to say this, usually I pitied the type of player who always claims "I'm better than my rank! But my teammates are not good enough and keep me from rising up!" and never claimed such a thing. But after really getting better and reaching A+, I now feel a big difference. And still it's also my fault that I ranked down and not up again (yet). I was very close to ranking up again multiple times (repeatedly 96, once 98, etc). But since my rank down I just experienced too many games with - excuse me - stupid teammates and that's no fun at all if it happens regularly.
I usually don't mind (slightly) unbalanced teams because scoring an upset is even sweeter than scoring a regular win. But the broken squad matchmaking (basically: if your team has even only one S player, the game feels entitled to match you with up to 4x S+) takes the fun out of it.
@Freeon-Leon: Hm maybe later (or when there are more players for a private match). I'll "practice" alternating between Ranked/Regular for now.^^
But now that you've mentioned it, @Jazzer94@Maxz@Megapokepaul when do we practice?
Think I'll switch to the Jet Squelcher now and enjoy the improved movement speed while firing. That's what still really annoys me with the Splattershot Pros, their low mobility.
@shani: I'm heading to bed ATM, but tomorrow or Friday are (I think) good for me. Maybe a similar time to the actual tourney, around 5:00pm CEST, or even a bit earlier?
If you guys are doing a private battle, I wouldn't mind joining since I was gonna play Splatoon soon anyways lol. Just mention me when you guys are playing.
@Maxz: Tomorrow I probably won't be able to play, unless maybe after midnight (CET). Splatraining on Friday 5PM CET or a bit earlier sounds good though. By the way, when exactly will the tournament start now? I just looked up @TheXReturns original post and it said 5PM UTC, 4PM BST (or one hour later accordingly). But according to www.worldtimebuddy.com, that's not possible. @TheXReturns Although in chatovod, you wrote 4pm BST start (3pm UTC), or a 5pm BST start (4pm UTC), which makes more sense. Just wanted to mention it, in case anybody else got confused (should I @ everyone here?), since I was assuming the wrong time before I looked it up again.
@Vee_Flames: Oh, I'm gonna have LOTS of time! Unfortunately, that means I didn't successfully audition into any summer festivals I was hoping to get into, but the good news is more Splatoon!
EDIT: and practice... lots of practice
