On the subject of replay, there's a lot more action in Splatoon. I've much rather show off a time I bested a whole team with my Tri-slosher than a time I got blue-shelled at the end. Plus, you could demonstrate different fighting styles in Splatoon, but there's really only one way to race in Mario Kart, as long as you matter hopping and drifting.
I'll definitely be playing when the update releases. Can't wait! I already have my new slosher combo in mind... the only challenge is to get Skype to make it a reality. lol
I can't wait to try out the newest Bamboozler. I don't know if I'll like it as much though, Disruptors and Echolocation go perfectly for my current playstyle and burst bombs will be nerfed anyway.
But I'll surely give it a try!
Btw, with the new update, chargers will be easier to approach and splat >:]
@PikminFan22: And you know what? This is not even my final form! I still need better sub skills, like a couple of swim speed ups, so you better watch out :U
And yeah, we need another Splatfest ASAP, I don't have a single snail.
I think I'm going to be using the inkbrush when it comes out.
Also this was posted on Japanese on Splatoon's Twitter account awhile back, but now it's in English too.
Instructions for making Splatoon cookies! http://splatoonus.tumblr.com
@Kazuo@TingLz@EdJericho: Sorry about being unavailable this past week. I intend to keep Thursday and Friday as open as possible to get as some good playtime in together. I should be around a fair bit tomorrow as well. Whenever I'm on I will chill in the discord server Kazuo made. Looking forward to squadding with you guys!
@PikminFan22: Baking is really just about following a set of instructions. Then again, I'm a solid cook and I hate doing that so I just got married. She even loves Splatoon, so those cookies will soon be mine!
@PikminFan22: Yeah, she's a helluva gal! Lucked out. (Although I should say it takes a lot of work and effort to grow and foster a good relationship, so there's not really a lot of luck involved other than finding her/him.)
Except I trained her to be one of those Bubble buttheads that always seem to pop a bubble right when you think you have them. Even helped her level some sick gear (something like 19pts Def up, 13 Special Charge up, 10 Tenacity, 9 Run Speed, 6 Ink Recovery) that makes her a pain to go up against)...
She's not the greatest player, but with her dip and dive bubble tactics she is an asset to any turf wars team (ranked is too stressful for her). Sort of proves to me that one problem in Splatoon's balancing is how much easier it is to abuse specials than really home your movement and combat skills...
Sorry guys. I'll try to be better about asking for squads and remembering that I did. Playing Splatoon with you guys is so much more fun than random people. I'll remember next time!
I'm guessing if there isn't a splatfest announced this week for then there will be one announced next week. Japan got their next splatfest announced yesterday btw and it starts on the 23rd
@PikminFan22: Thanks, bud! Yeah, I sometimes fear for my kids' generation considering how poorly much of mine is at parenting and relationships. I was "fortunate" to be raised by a good single mom with no father in the picture, which emphasized to me the amount of compassion, empathy, modesty, and overall effort that goes into keeping a couple together over the long haul. I supposed it also drove home what's at stake if I fail...
It's important not to shelter your kids from the true rigors and pains of life. I know lots of parents won't even argue in front of their kids and I find that scary. Not arguing or fighting isn't a realistic goal, but making amends afterward is of utmost importance with the people you care about and it is worth exposing kids to a little turmoil if it helps teach that fact.
....Ahem, sorry. Don't mean to get all heavy or anything. This stuff is just near and dear to me. To me what being a man entails is finding a girl you have intrinsic faith in and offering her as much as possible to help her grow into a woman, which is actually a endless struggle since we can all revert at any moment That's the process that makes you a man, even if it takes a lot of failure and wounds.
OK, enough. As for the gear, yeah... It does it's job! She thought long and hard about different loadouts before I convinced her of benefits of quicker bubble. Now her whole game revolves around it! The Tenacity buff was where she really started making hay.
She used more straight charge up, but after the buff I knew Tenacity was going to be a mistake. The 19 pts. of Defense up is sorta the sweet spot for increasing as many guns as possible to an extra shot, which is perfect for the "nope!" bubble. And of course you can never argue with a little run speed or ink recovery...
Running one Defence main is usually a good idea, to help negate the 2 shot weapons. Helps with splash damage and other things like that so even for weapons like chargers, it is still very useful
Having defence up sort of forces the other player to use a strength ability and that uses up their slots for other abilities
Question: Do you guys use the "Y" button to do the quick turn around / straighten the camera a lot when you play? Maybe one of my weaknesses is not using it very often. Maybe it could benefit me, even though I don't use motion controls.
I am doing OK though now. I'm a B 50.... I think the highest rank I ever got was an A- but that didn't last long at all. Gonna go at it today though and try to make some rank.
