I also found that the motion controls were the way to go. I tried to do stick aiming once and was so terrible. The motion made it pretty easy and precise
I agree. The perfect thing is to combine motion control and the right stick. Then you are very fast in aiming up and down and left and right. Amazing how great it works.
Yeah, I was totally surprised. I wish the demo was the entire weekend though. I found myself not going into squid form enough, and would like to practice some strategies with that. Toward the end of this play session I started to use it more as a quick cover and to hide for easier kills. Of course, if you get inked even when hiding you are dead, which is a good game design against campers. I think I am just so used to the standard shooter where you don't have the ability to hide like you can in this game. The game is surprisingly deep for being so simply designed.
I am super amazed with this game. The controls felt good, there was no lag, and the matches I played were absolutely great. I can see why the game didn't need the voice chat because you have a gamepad that lets you super jump to your ally position. Motion controls can be turned off, and did I mention that it is quick to find people?
This game overall is "INK-redible"
Making promise is easy. The hard part is keeping it.

Best tactic I have seen was one or two persons camp at enemy spawn and keep them back, while the rest paint like everything easily. It could get a little op if the "wrong" persons get used to the game. I'm a little worried.
This game is fun for a while, now. But I have the bad feeling when ppl get used to the game it can get unfair at times.
Let's see how I think about it after my second run in 6½h. ;P

I noticed that spawn camping was a good strategy. Hopefully the super jump to your allies can remedy that strategy, but I am concerned.

I didn't even think about voice chat when playing, so I don't think it is that big a deal being left out (since the map is so good). It would just be nice for Nintendo to get with the times though.

I'm not sure if spawn killing is much of an issue in this game since your enemies can't hit you while you're in the spawn point so you can either Super Jump or strike back if you're using a ranged weapon.

Didn't notice that. That is a smart design choice.

If all team members have to respawn, only if someone can get out of there super jump can help.
I wished there was some kind of zone where you couldn't die, or you get the shield for a few seconds. Spawn protection works for Smash, why not there? Edit: Okay there is such thing. Haven't noticed it. But still, Look below.^^
Another problem is that you can't switch weapons that could help in such situations. On that one map is a good spot for campers. You can't reach it with a roller that easily for excample. That could get a problem too. =/
That was great fun. I especially liked using the roller weapon. The only thing I found to be annoying was having to use the motion controls to aim up and down while using the right stick to turn. Still, I'm definitely returning to the final demo later today.

You can change to right stick aiming. When in the weapon select screen, hit the + button and you will see options to disable motion control, invert your controls, and adjust sensitivity. The fact that you can't change in the game is a little irritating. Hopefully that is just for the demo though.

Apparently someone said you can't get killed when in the spawn ring, so that is a good design choice.
Hopefully in the main game you can change weapon types. I know the games are only 2 minutes or whatever, but it seems ridiculous that you can't change to adjust your strategy. That is standard in almost every game. I also noticed there was no pause menu to adjust things like controls or sensitivity. Sometimes you might want to change those things depending on what your primary weapon is. That needs to be patched into the main game if it isn't there.

Cool, I'll definitely try that out. I was far too eager to play the game to notice the options menu.
