So yet another reason I like having a the physical copy of a game rather than a digital copy. It looks like cause of THQ's bankruptcy that this game will be pulled from the eShop Sunday. Funny thing is I bet I will be able to buy a physical copy after this Sunday. Physical FTW.

To be honest Darksiders is one of my favorite games this generation but at least the possibility exists for future titles.
Yep, all we can do is hope that it's bought by the right company. All we know for sure is that it's going to be handed over to a new team or left to die, since Crytek isn't interested:
"“We had chosen Austin as the destination for [our U.S. branch], and we needed a lean and core team of expert to run the studio,” said Yerli. “At the same time, we didn’t want to continue with Darksiders 3, since that doesn’t fit with our strategy. So when I heard that [THQ laid off everyone at Vigil], I decided on Saturday morning to fly out to meet with them to see if the team would be interested to join our mission, which is significantly different than what this team has done before.”

Well today is the final day of bidding for the rest of THQ's IPs. Suppose to hear in May who gets what if anyone bothered to put a bid in. Really hoping someone picks up Darksiders.

Probably Crytek since their Austion studio is made up of most of the Darksiders team with the expection of Joe Mad.

Except that Crytek have said that they weren't interested in Darksiders.

Except that Crytek has more recently said that they were. People change their minds.

People do, yes, all the time. Maybe the story's developed and I missed something but the alleged quotes from Crytek USA that were all over the internet a couple of weeks ago were from an unverified Twitter account. As I say, maybe something's changed since then and there's been an official word from the company or someone has managed to verify that that's a genuine account. If not, I'm not sure I believe it. Either way though, we'll know in a couple of weeks!

The Twitter account belonged to David Adams, the founder of Vigil and head of Crytek USA, a new branch of Crytek created this year primarily of former Vigil employees. Granted, that doesn't confirm that Crytek USA will get the IP but Adams was interested in bringing Darksiders to his team, which makes sense considering it was pretty much theirs to begin with. Regardless of how Crytek felt, they gave Adams a new studio and it seems quite likely that he would want his IP back, possibly to resume Darksiders 3 development (why wouldn't the creators want to do so?). Sure, it's possible Crytek will completely refuse, I assume they have the power to overrule Adam's choices, but if no one else bids they could probably get it cheap considering the head of one of the studios probably has some idea of what to do with it. They put him in charge of a studio, they clearly trust the guy's decisions.
Of course, like I said, it doesn't mean Crytek definitely will let that studio bid but I see no reason they'd refuse it if they could get it cheap anyways, and if someone else DOES bid, well then at least someone will own it. Either way hopefully we'll find out soon. Crytek USA seems like the perfect home for it, considering it more of less is it's original creators.

Yes, that' the story I'm talking about. Even today, that account has twelve tweets, including this:
Frankly I still don't believe that account is genuine but that's not to say I don't believe that he'd like to continue with the series he helped create. The question is whether his new bosses will allow it and the public signs are that they're against it. Of course, things change and we have no way of knowing what goes on inside relationships like that. As I said, we'll know the truth of it in a couple of weeks.

On the one hand, they're an established action RPG developer. On the other, they don't have much of a record developing for Nintendo.
